Salad of The Day (SOTD ™) — Did You Eat A Salad Today?

Arugula salad with a dressing of red wine and balsamic vinegars.

I put some in an Italian cold cuts sandwich with calabrese salami, spicy cappicola, and prosciutto, and ate the rest on the side with some grated cheese.

Wintry Fattoush – arugula, spiced and roasted butternut squash, sumac pickled onions, pita chips, pomegranate molasses.

Love all these flavors on their own and together!

Two salads, served beside pizza - Cold pea salad (w/ hb egg and cheddar) and kiwi apple salad, using up 2 orchard apples that stored very well wrapped in the fruit bin since Oct.

I made Piyaz – Turkish red onion, tomato, and parsley salad – but with arugula instead of parsley.

Went great with a shortcut Lahmacun.

It’s very versatile, I’ve made it with bbq pork and also scallops. Chicken would be good too.

Cindy’s Kitchen, pricey; I noticed they don’t offer it in their salad bar.

Wow! I’d not seen the herb ranch or garlic Caesar yet! Might have to check the Sprouts market next time I have a chance.

Cheap it is not. Quality has its price, I guess.

I wish that were the case at my supermarket, not the reverse :sob:

I didn’t know there was one than one Ranch, so I bought the Herb Ranch

Is that the price you pay there? I don’t know if Sprouts is any cheaper; I don’t go to that area in Daly City.

Yeah, the price sounds about right. I’ve only had their buttermilk ranch dressing, which also includes herbs and bits of carrot. I just had to toss the 1/3 of what was left in the bottle. One fizz opening it was worth the risk, but not a second time.

I’m glad I still have an unopened Caesar and an unopened blue cheese dressing.

My friend and I tried the Cindy’s Kitchen Herb Ranch on a salad yesterday, we both liked it a lot.

Isn’t it fabulous? I’m consistently impressed just how fresh & homemade it tastes.

He has a wife and 4 kids, 3 out of college, one still In HS, maybe none is ever moving OUT! So, this bottle would probably be for one meal or so!

Correction: one boy has always refused to eat fruits and vegetables, no salads, eats French fries and apple pie, so he wouldn’t be eating any of the salad dressing.

I can usually stretch a bottle for several salads by adding lemon juice (plus it’s pretty thick), but it’s just the two of us.

A bargain it is not.
