Yes, the red wine is for the whole meal. The curry sauce had a nice kick to it, and went well with the red wine. My wife & I only drink red wine Also, the soft shell crabs came with a nice eggplant caponata that went well with the red. I know some people might think that it is sacrilegious to drink red wine with fish, but like you said @naf we just drink what we want, and forget about pairing the wine with the food
Those Dutch mussels are amazing; so big and juicy. Most restaurants here serve PEI mussels. I like the Dutch ones better.

We had another excellent dinner at Cafe Panache. Below is a link to the details and pictures from the WFD thread.
It’s the weekend which means dining out. We had another fabulous dinner at Cafe Panache in Ramsey, NJ. We started off with some excellent appetizers of very flavorful garlic shrimp, lobster and mussel bisque, and sweet corn agnolotti with butter and parmesan. For entrees Mrs. P had mahi mahi topped with eggplant puree and crispy ginger, over a pesto sauce and sugar snap peas. I had a Niman Ranch pork chop topped with poached shallots, in a red wine sauce, over polenta with fresh rosemary. For de…

Looking good Eli! I need a good pork chop. It’s been a while. Tell Mrs P the crabbing should start heating up soon. Last weekend was a total bust. I tried hard. I went to different spots on several days, and tried all different depths and I just couldn’t find them. The relentless wind leading up to the weekend shut down the bite I believe. The bay was all turned up.

We had another fabulous dinner at Cafe Panache in Ramsey.
We shared a couple of excellent appetizers of sautéed garlic shrimp with crispy shallots and chili (split portion pictured), and creamy burrata with fresh ripe farmers market tomatoes and fresh basil.
For entrees I had beautifully charred grilled loin lamb chops with a confit garlic rosemary jus and farro. Mrs. P had the halibut (not pictured). The lamb chops went great with Mollydooker The Boxer shiraz. For dessert we had a fresh mel…

We had another outstanding dinner at Cafe Panache.
We started off with an amazing whole Maitake mushroom in a sesame and lime soy sauce. We also had to have one of the last sweet corn agnolotti of the season. For entrees Mrs. P had sautéed shrimp with a roasted heirloom tomato stuffed with fresh ricotta, chopped almonds, and fresh basil. I had pan seared scallops with a dijon beurre blanc and a timbale of vegetables. For dessert they split a slice of freshly baked coconut cake (that was so light and airy), with coconut sorbet. We drank a 2014 Clos St. Jean Chateauneuf du Pape.

Tonight was the fabulous Mrs. P’s birthday and we had an awesome dinner at Cafe Panache in Ramsey, NJ. We started off with seared shrimp in paprika lemon butter sauce with heirloom tomatoes and fried sage. We also shared handmade pumpkin agnolotti with butter and parmesan. For entrees I had outstanding imported venison chops in aromatic madeira wine sauce with buttered spaetzle and sweet potato puree. Mrs. P had excellent diver scallops with cauliflower flan, pickled chanterelles, in a lobster s…

Yum! I definitely need some lobster soon.
Interesting menu! I wonder if the Canadian duck tastes anything like a Canadian goose?

We had a fabulous dinner indoors at Cafe Panache for the first time in 6 months. Below is a link to the details and pictures.
We had a fabulous dinner indoors at Cafe Panache in Ramsey, NJ. It was our first indoor dinner at Panache in over 6 months. We had dinner outdoors there 3 weeks ago. There were 4 very generously spaced tables in the big room. We sat by an open window. All of the servers were fully masked throughout. We enjoyed excellent duck two ways, NJ heirloom tomato and burrata salad, tuna tartare, tuna steak, and coconut cake with caramel and slivered almond ice cream for dessert. It all went great with an …

We had another outstanding dinner at Cafe Panache in Ramsey, NJ. They moved to fully indoor dining this week at 25% capacity. They were being charged about $7,000.00 a month to rent a tent, and it just wasn’t worth it to invest any more money for any sort of heating for another week or two before it became too cold to dine outdoors.
We enjoyed an excellent eggplant tomato timbale with seared shrimp in chive oil; escargot; pumpkin ricotta moon shaped pasta; awesome venison chops, perfectly charr…
