I didn’t want Neighbor #2 to miss out on the avocados from last week, so I made her some avocado toast (on homemade bread) with fried eggs (for lunch). The fried eggs looked a little wonky and I didn’t want to subject the forum to any more of my “wonky” creations. So I snapped a picture prior to placing them on top.

I feel like donuts in China should be 油條 or Yóutiáo

Not taken aback seeing western donuts at a breakfast buffet anymore. Have seen them from Penang to Shanghai.
Youtiao at the congee station? Of course.
Wonky is fine with me. I always enjoy seeing your creations!

Maccheroncini pasta with sautéed artichoke hearts, onion, garlic, hot Italian seasoning. Added some homemade chicken broth and then the pasta , followed by cooked sausage and tomatoes. Finished with basil and pecorino Romano , this was very flavorful and enough for another day.
Dessert…now we’re talkin’!
Pistachio cupcake with pistachio pastry cream in the center core, chocolate frosting and chopped chocolate/pistachios on top.
Nap time!
