Ohhh, THAT sucks!
Oh man…I am so sorry…I feel your pain
Thank God I have a close friend who was an IRS investigator
he has helped us through a couple of unspeakably horrid and
complicated IRS issues…
How reassuring they only took five years to point that out…!
I don’t know what is going on here on the east coast but this winter weather crapola needs to GO.
This stewy white beans Hazan recipe was mentioned in another thread and i welcomed a hot bubbly simmering pot for a while. I used less sage (sometimes it’s overwhelming to me) and put the hot beans over a bowl of fresh baby spinach that got nice and wilty instead of the bread. Glass of reisling a la carte. Really easy, basic ingredients, mostly hands off
Well, you can contest that, can’t you?
Thought that might be the case.
Upcoming …a trip to the city for Indian tiffin dishes. A newly opened city centre outlet for the Indian Tiffin Room which has operated out in the suburbs for a couple of years. Hopefully, it will be less crowded than the original and reservations are likely to be honoured on time, rather than folk being sent off to the pub for an hour till their table becomes free.
Yes , I have to file a police report and fill out a bunch of paper work . My tax guy is going to help me . The feds flagged it as identity theft back in 2011 . They never notified me . Gee thanks . I won’t have to pay the state .
Zuni chicken with bread salad and roasted asparagus. That salad is so good I’m going to make it again tonight. (Another crappy picture. I just can’t be bothered with multiple takes. Wanna eat!)
Pan-roasted frozen cod filets from TJ with mustard sauce & flageolets with hollandaise.
Saucy Wednesday.
I just got a letter saying we owe $4000 for our 2010 taxes! I need to call them to find out what’s going on. I hope it’s not the same thing as yours!
Aldi has my dinner on sale this week. Speck flavour is quite overpowering. Would be nice if there was more of an onion taste to balance it out.
Today: I used risotto rice but let it evaporate like “paella”. A heat diffuser was used to keep it low and gentle.
Flammkuchen Chips? Oy.
WFD: ~ North African Roasted Spiced Chicken Thighs: coriander seeds; cumin seeds; harissa; poussins (chicken thighs); cilantro and mint; a drizzle of pistachio oil over each serving. A paste is made with the coriander. cumin, olive oil, harissa, and S & P; painted over the chicken; then into the oven it goes to roast till golden and cooked through.
~ Brown Basmati Rice with arugula on which to serve the chicken.
~ Roasted Eggplant Halves. One eggplant sliced in half; Kosher salt and FGBpepper; olive oil; roasted at 400F about 25-30 minutes, the same as the chicken thighs; a squirt of lemon juice at the finish.
Wedge salad and tomahawk ribe eye…ahhhhh
Two days old leftovers . And a great piece of bread toasted and then drizzled with o.o .
Made a new (double) batch of the Zahav hummus tonight. Snacky dinner plate of it with sugar snap peas, sliced smoked tofu, cucumber rounds, those wonderful pumpernickle pretzel sticks from trader joe’s, and a few radishes. A mug of hot v8 a la carte.
Looks amazing! What did you do to the onions on the salad?
Breakfast for dinner - sausage, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, potato cakes, mushrooms.
Thank you, but I was dining out I didn’t prepare that meal. Also I think you are mistaking the bacon strips as onions.
