When you’re ready to pick favorites:
Upcoming Pot Roast for Yom Kippur to break the fast. Made with so much Tempranillo. I am anxious to eat this for a variety of reasons.
Be right over!
Shin Black ramen, with leftover pork belly and skin.
I also added extra garlic, ginger, scallions, chili crisp and Yu Choy. Tasty stuff

This week’s theme is “What can be heated and not make dirty dishes?”
To that end, I present Sam’s chicken tender chunks two ways:
Au natural with curly fries (earlier this week)
A la chicken Parmesan (tonight)
Last night we had dinner at our friend’s place: cheese plate, green salad, roasted pork tenderloin and potatoes, peas and corn. Wine. I brought cookie dough from our freezer and made cookies.
We’ve had quite a few World Central Kitchen meals for lunches; quite decent. Lovely people.
We got flushing water IBC totes delivered to my son’s classmate’s trailer park today after placing a request last night – pretty amazing!
Pork stir fry with broccoli florets, red bell pepper strips, and onions. Sauce of beef stock, teriyaki sauce, white wine, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, grated fresh ginger root, Aleppo pepper, and cornstarch all whisked together and poured over everything in the sauté pan to thicken.
Served on leftover Basmati rice, with green onion and sesame seeds sprinkled on top.
Wine.
Those chile rellenos look really good!
What are the orange squares at 3:00? Cornbread?
I had intended on having pasta with a corn tomato basil sauce however I made a salad with the same ingredients for breakfast this morning. I didn’t feel like doing a variation on the same for dinner so I made a shrimp curry instead. I went overboard with the coconut milk
There really is shrimp in that curry
That was the chile rellenos casserole. I’d saved the recipe and I think it was from smallh. I had to modify because my Anaheims were very small. I layered instead of wrapped chiles around cheese.
Take-out schnitzel dinner, and a pig’s tail and rib dinner from Olde Heidelberg House in Heidelberg, Ontario.
One dinner came with mashed potato, sauerkraut and cole slaw, the other came with mashed potato, sauerkraut and mixed veg.
Lemon meringue pie from the farmers’ market for dessert.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating this weekend.
My dood had a talk out in the boonies, so I got together with Pat @Bigley9 for one final feast at the SEA market. Picked up some sausages for @tcamp, who couldn’t join in the fun & will retrieve them at some point.
When he came home late afternoon, he expressed the desire to go out for a beer & a bite. Went back to the bar down the road for another ginormous pickle (this time I cut it into bite-sized pieces like the lady I am ) and the steamed mussels with chorizo.
That was about enough for us, and we’re ready to settle in with a (hopefully!) good horror flick & one of his famous margaritas
We enjoyed another excellent dinner at Cafe Panache, in Ramsey, NJ, including venison with an awesome sweet potato au gratin; lobster cakes over saffron risotto; pumpkin cappellacci; tuna tartare; octopus. It all went great with a couple of excellent cabernets.
Filet of beef on the Big Green Egg. Leftover squashy mashed potatoes. Roasted carrots.
Spuds, squash, scallions, and carrots from the garden.
An autumn meal. Seared and roasted pork tenderloin that was seasoned with smokehouse maple seasoning and pepper, roasted with an apple cider, maple sauce. Sweet and spicy Moroccan roasted carrot. Spinach, apple, celery and pistachio salad with honey mustard dressing. Apple from the garden.
Pizza Saturday . Base of tomato , Pecorino Toscano.
Mozzarella , eggplant with garlic , red and yellow peppers. With a sliced garden tomato. Dusted with calabrian oregano . A little drizzle of hot honey also.
Good friend is here to play music .
Speck on the side . To dress .Cheers.
What to have with the leftover bavette steak and some chicken? How about Greek fasolakia lathera? I heated the steak just a little in the microwave so it would keep it’s medium-rareness.
I think it’s been 35-ish years. We had only about 20:00 pre-theater, and hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. I was not displeased!
Very nice dinner at Pasjoli https://www.pasjoli.com/ - French restaurant in Santa Monica. They have recently changed to a prix fixe menu and have very well executed interpretation of classic dishes. Also, one of most relaxed and quietest restaurant I have been in a long time.
Canape - choux pastry filled with gruyere cheese, prosciutto, shaved black truffle
Salad - market lettuces, comte cheese, dijon vinaigrette
Foie brioche - duck & chicken liver mousse, shallot truffle jam
Beef tartare - capers, dijon, pommes gaufrettes
Steak - 6 oz hanger, sauce au poivre, fingerling potatoes, aioli
Burnt basque cheesecake - burnt on the outside, runny on the bottom to inside
So that’s why our beer and liquor shelves are empty!
