Poor Charlie Brown. While every other kid in the Peanuts Gang was getting lots of candy thrown into their bags during the perennial favorite, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”, all Charlie B. got was some rocks. Linus sits in the pumpkin patch, waiting for the Great Pumpkin to show up, and even Snoopy got into the Halloween spirit by climbing aboard his Sopwith Camel doghouse as a WW1 fighter pilot to engage the Red Baron in a dogfight, crawling through the French countryside behind enemy lines!
But Halloween is just one thing going on in October.
Think about taking your family to a local farm for exploring corn mazes, PYO apples and pumpkins, cider donuts, hay rides. And don’t forget the spooky haunted houses at night, too! (real or otherwise!)
LEAF PEEPING begins in earnest in early October.
National Black Cat Day is October 27th - and my local MSPCA is waiving adoption fees on black cat adoptions from Oct 1-4. Black cats need love, too!
It’s National Chili Month - can’t think of a more perfect month to have a big pot of chili cooking on the stove.
Yeah, October is definitely the month for cozy, warm meals - at least for those of us in sweater weather states! What are you planning on putting on the table?
