It was an interesting period of time, wasn’t it? The lies upon lies upon lies were fascinating to watch as it spiraled into a a total cluster***k.

Perhaps I’m confusing liking with forking.

I wasn’t (necessarily) liking the stock photo, but the act of kindness in taking food to the neighbor.

Not to belabor the point, but you are confusing posts, it seems. The stock picture was posted by a new member without any comment.

If you don’t mind a poorly translated recipe, searching Google images came to the rescue.

I remember seeing some photos on the “What’s for dinner” thread by someone on Chowhound (I think they continued on HO for awhile after Chowhounds closure) and their photos looked waaay too polished to be taken by an amateur photographer, even a really good one. Not sure what happened to them.

I think that’s the HO member that @small_h and I were referring to. It was determined that the pictures being used were professional restaurant pictures posted several years prior to them being posted here on HO (I think someone used a reverse Google-photo search?) and when the person continued to do so, they were shut down.

I don’t remember them - and I’m thinking of barca, in case that’s not who everyone else is talking about - from CH. But in addition to the food shots, they also posted pix purportedly of their relatives that were taken from various Facebook and other pages.

I had a lot of leftover duck “bacon” from a work event (they hardly touched it! lucky for me!), so we made duck carbonara at my sister’s last night. I wish I’d not left all the leftovers at her house!

My poor PIC started coughing last night after we came home from dinner, and ended up canceling his trip down south. While he’s able to participate in the workshop remotely, it’s not the same, and he’s mega-bummed to miss it. No refunds on the trip or hotel, either. We have a sneaking suspicion our buddy from Gainesville might be the culprit, who greeted us at brunch on Sunday with “We better not hug, I think I might be coming down with something.” Who does that?!? :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Like, cancel the f’n date, bruh :roll_eyes:

I feel sorry for my dude, but I’m also happy to have him here :heart:

We went to the weekly organic market nearby where we picked up our favorite sourdough, a couple more cheeses, smoked halibut & butterfish to class up our traditional Berlin breakfast.

Dinner was leftover white bean, 'nduja & potato stoup plus a beautiful SALAD in celebration of our brand-new Salad Of The Day thread on HO :partying_face:

Mâche, baby plum tomatoes, chopped walnuts in a mustardy walnut vinaigrette, topped with pan-fried oyster shrooms and crispy shallots & garlic.

J/k, y’all know I have salad almost every day.

You might like the Turkish Gozleme a few of us made (in my case, I cheated with tortillas, but @MunchkinRedux went whole hog starting with the dough).

(It’s just spanakopita fillling in stuffed flatbread form.)
