What's for breakfast (aka what's going to happen exciting today)?

Have you tried pineapple cream cheese?

Cows’ Blue Moo blue cheese on my apricot muffin. That glob on the edge of the plate is quince jelly.

It is sweet. https://www.arla.com/our-brands/arla-cream-cheese/arla-pineapple-cream-cheese-/

It isn’t cheesy compared to Mango Ginger Stilton or fruity Wensleydales.

Celery stuffed with pineapple cream cheese used to be a staple in my Mother’s relish tray.

It was part of our family friend’s annual Christmas Open House party. Brick, colby and marble cheddar in slices on a crystal platter, a little crock of pineapple cream cheese, clubhouse or Ritz crackers, mincemeat tarts, brownies, rum balls, shortbread, butter tarts, lemon tarts, fruitcake, sugar cookies, onion dip. I would try a little of everything. The squares were cut in 1 inch square pieces. Carrots, celery, raw broccoli, maybe cauliflower.

Bowls of party mix and mixed nuts. Cranberry lemonade and egg nog in punch bowls, ready to be spiked. They stopped having the Open House around 2015. I mostly remember because I wore some navy pants that no longer fit, that only fit for a few months in 2015. :joy:

Sadly, she passed away last year.

I’ve never heard of pineapple cream cheese. Was it home made or a commercial product? I remember seeing pineapple cottage cheese in little cartons as a kid, tho. I love holiday assortment platters. Every family has their special touches!

This is what we used to buy.

Wow! It’s in a jar. A reusable jar at that. Reviews says it is hard to find, like so many other pieces of years go by.

This Arla brand pineapple cream cheese is sold in Canada. https://www.arla.com/our-brands/arla-cream-cheese/arla-pineapple-cream-cheese-/

They also make a dill cream cheese that was my favourite when I was growing up.

Philadelphia also makes one https://www.creamcheese.com/product/00021000007332/philadelphia-pineapple-cream-cheese

Bacon-potato hash (bratkartoffeln). Eggs to order. There were tomatoes, too, but they didn’t make the picture.

Spuds, maters, and scallions from our garden.

Have you made Gröstl? I really enjoyed it on my last visit to Tirol. Basically Austrian meat and potato hash topped with a usually crispy fried egg. I tried at least 3 versions on my last weeklong visit to Tirol.

Made an egg scramblie with the leftover bit of sauteed spinach, mushrooms, pancetta, and grated mozzarella cheese from the pizza I made for dinner on Friday night. A slice of Aldi square sourdough toast with my cawfee alongside.

I absolutely adore Bratkartoffeln. The secret is def using bacon fat and taking it low and slow so the onions caramelize, and the potatoes are cooked through & crispy.

Yours look fabo!
