I love that old Pfaltzcraft pattern. Maybe I should get some.
That’s hilarious. Just saw. I include mine in some photos just for kicks ![]()
My mom actually bought the dishes for me when I first moved out on my own. I have two older sisters and they both have a good set of dishes (wedding present/moving-in-with-partner present) and when it was clear to my mother that I was not going to get married she decided to get me four place settings. I like them since they are easy to clean - no crevasses for food to collect etc. - and they look nice. I don’t like the cutlery so much since the plastic part with the pattern has come unstuck so will have to be replaced.
First of the porch peppers, with onion, scrambled egg and (probably nearly) the last of the porch oregano.

The only issue I remember from my childhood is that cutlery would sometimes leave streaks/marks in the finish.
Koreanish Bfast - homemade kimchi, nori, furikake, chili crisp, crispy fried egg over a little rice.
friend of mine says adding mayo to the natto/mustard mix is good too.
I’ve tried it and it’s not for me. The texture is just too slimy/sticky, and the taste doesn’t make it worth it, to me.
Leftoverpalooza for breakfast this week:
On Sunday morning, Friday’s skillet meatballs-and-peaches joins Saturday’s Sichuan green beans.
On Tuesday morning, Monday’s green bean stir-fry pairs up with an egg foo yong made with last Wednesday’s leftover coleslaw veg.
I can’t imagine mixing mayo to the natto. The flavour combination sounds a little odd. And the slimy texture is what puts a lot of people off. For some reason, mixing it with a little rice makes it more palatable IMO.
yes, it’s strange. but yeah, mayo, mustard, and then mixed into the rice. i saw a tiktok video suggesting the same combo.
There is a Pfaltzgraff stoneware and porcelain cleaner product out there. I used it on my Acadia White dinner plates and it worked well.
I imagine Barkeeper’s Friend might also work?
Not sure, the Pflatzgraff brand is an emulsion. Bon Ami might work, too. I’d do a test on the back for sure, first.
Crackers and Point Reyes blue cheese, with homemade raspberry and peach jams.
Summer fruits for two - pears and blueberries from the garden.
For a savory note, there was gazpacho.
