What's for breakfast (aka what's going to happen exciting today)?

That would cheer me up.

yum! that’s some thick yogurt you got there, homemade?

It’s “Nancy’s” whole milk yogurt. I’ve been lazy lately, but when I do make it myself, I’ll use whole milk, and add both powdered milk and a little cream for extra goodnes. :yum:

I got up early to make my take on a traditional Japanese breakfast. There was rice, miso soup, salted salmon, tamagoyaki (which I made without a rectangular pan), homemade radish and cucumber pickle and a cup of green tea. It’s an amazing way to start the day. Apologies for the bad lighting, it was a very cloudy early morning.

Damn I’ll miss our Frühstück in Berlin something fierce :frowning:

Soft-ish boiled eggs, teewurst, cream cheese, prosciutto di San Daniele, finocchiona, assorted cheeses… why ever go out for breakfast or brunch?

Ironically I had an Japanese themed breakfast this morning but not as delicious as yours. I had natto for breakfast with a little hot mustard and too much soy sauce. I just opened a new bottle of soy sauce and got a little over enthusiastic with pouring some in my natto :frowning: I was hoping to make some rice to go with but I was running late for work. No photo because it didn’t look pretty enough for a picture…

DH practicing his outdoor cooking on the Weber griddle … diner style: fried eggs, hashbrowns, home-smoked pork belly.

My contribution was home-made wholewheat toast, cherry jam, leftover green beans, garden tomatoes … and there was gazpacho.

That cherry jam sure pops in this post!

I’ve never had natto, I hear it’s a very acquired taste  I hope you were full enough even without the rice.

My breakfast took me just under 40 minutes to make as I had a lot of the components prepared in advance but it was really filling and kept me going through a morning badminton game and errands easily

Thank you! A lot of effort but worth it as a treat :slightly_smiling_face:

Well I coulda used a little extra for breakfast but, even though yesterday was my work from home day, I had an accident prone morning. (My clothes rack kicked the bucket so I spent the last few minutes of my morning picking up clothes rack parts plus a few other random incidents.) So no time to make rice before my work day started but I have a fridge full of veggies so I had some carrots and a tomato as a mid morning snack. No prep work involved and it tided me over until lunch.

Natto is definitely an acquired taste. There is no odor involved but it is really stringy. You have to stir it vigorously a few minutes then add hot mustard and soy sauce. The natto I get has a little packet of hot mustard included and I always have a bottle of soy sauce in the fridge. I find having it with rice makes it more palatable.

Bruschetta on homemade baguette with sauteed eggplant, fresh mozz, garden tomatoes and basil.

Because it’s summer, there was gazpacho.

Oh I’m sorry! That sounds like a bit of a stressful way to start your day, good thing you had prep sorted though.

I’m curious if natto is hard to swallow because of the texture? I’d definitely give it a try if given the opportunity though!

I would very much like to eat that.

Brunch the other morning. Stuffed to the gills mushroom and jack omelet, a few pieces of linguica and hashed brows. There was a V-8. Brunch served on breakfast china of the grandparents-in-law. Beautiful set of Provincial Flowers, this one was the Lady’s slipper from PEI.
