Oooh! Did I miss your travel report?
It may look like nothing, but…
OK, it’s just the last of the mortadella from the Italian market slapped on the delectable pizza bone from Angelo’s pie. And we still have one slice left. Lotsa meals from one pizza
Nope - the travel report is forthcoming
Good Amurican! With a hint of the Mediterranean. Chicken on rice with sautéed onion, mushrooms, garlic, olive salad, oil cured black olives, preserved lemon finely diced, Marsala, rosemary and sage. Tasted delicious !
Pizzette fritte, fried dough, I used TJ’s dough with great success. 75 g of dough, flattened and center docked, about 2 minutes per side. Uncooked tomato sauce , garlic , oregano, peperoncini, and a bit of diced mozzarella were the toppings . These were placed in a low oven to finish and they were mighty good. Fried in avo and evoo.
A gloomy day with fog hanging low over the skyline made so much brighter by lunch with a friend from back home, who was in town for the day to help her daughter move in
We met at RTM, where she and her daughther picked up a reasonably decent chicken biryani with a lil kick (according to my friend, I didn’t try any) and a turkey plate from The Original Turkey, a place that came highly recommended on the Philly eats subreddit. I ordered the cheese original with mayo and 'murrcan cheese bc I didn’t feel like a yuge lunch, as we’re going out for another celebratory dinner tonight
It was a nice sandwich with very juicy, fresh cut, still hot roasted turkey, but — as with most US sammiches, a lil too heavy on the meat for my taste. It’s a cultural thing, I know
I also prefer my bread to be toasted. Raw white bread is just not very appealing to me.
Half of the sammich came home with me after we perused the kitchen section at TJ Maxx where I found a good & cheap pepper grinder. A very fun, successful lunch meetup, I’ll say.

Scary😵
I’ve been through worse
The other half of my turkey & cheese sammich from RTM. My darling scraped off the mayo to toast that raw-ass white bread & reassembled it all for my enjoyment
That’s true lurv.
A meatball and cheese curd sandwich on whole grain bread, chased by a Nanaimo bar.
Pizzette fritte with Castelvetrano olive tapenade and mozzarella. Only enough dough for one more

Peach custard tart with peach coulis.
Today’s lunch was a corn tomato salad with basil, mint and feta. Sorry about the crappy lighting. It gets either really dark or really light in my apartment.
I love the combination of corn & tomatoes!
