Lunch 2024

Patata frittata, zucs , mini peppers, red onion, a little mozz on top, a bit of the Week
In Review.
And the ever popular accompaniment to a Mediterranean inspired frittata, Chinese pork buns.
To complete the globalization, burnt Basque Pumpkin cheesecake.

Stir fry of flaked smoked salmon fillet, tenderstem broccoli with noodles. Used a couple of tablespoons nasi lemak sambal to make this. The noodles were from my local Asian shop - a dried plain ramen type of noodle described as Noodle King/Nouilles Imperiales on the packet. I really like these noodles - nice bite to them.

We have a ginormous Asian/Viet market down the road from us, and I adore Asian noodz of all kinds! Do you have a pic of the package by any means, or do you know what country they are from?

They sound delish!

Lunch/brunch whatevs. The last of the bacon from the air-fryer, two fried eggs each. Naturally, mine broke  trying to flip them to get rid of that revolting, spoogy white. The last of the sesame semolina longo with capers & chive cream cheese.

A good start to another sunny day :sun_with_face:

Guajillo roasted short rib taco and a bean and cheese taco (picture got messed up by the bright sun) from Taco Heart in Philadelphia. The bean and cheese was okay, I should have added some more condiments, but the short rib taco was the bomb!

Taco Heart was recommended by our Philly friend! The short rib taco looks fab :star_struck:

Have you ever tried 1/2 an egg shell of water and then cover which will steam the whites of the eggs?

I should! I covered the pan with a lid, but it didn’t steam quickly enough. It’s ok, we usually make scrambled or SBEs. Fried eggs are rare in our house… tho I’d love to master the flippage, TBH. I already suck majorly at poaching  :sob:

Got started late, and decided I wanted bagels for the weekend and freezer. Went to a donut place in town that gets rave reviews on a local area FB group. Selection wasn’t big, as they had sold out of a lot by the time I got there (after noontime). But I picked up some bagels to try, and also got an apple muffin and a creme-filled donut. (Really wanted a honey dipt, but again…too late.)

Had a half of the muffin and half of the creme-filled donut for “lunch”. Both very good, although the creme was a bit too sweet for me…I think it’s a marshmallow creme (Fluff?). Gave me a bit of a early afternoon sugar rush. Now I’m ready for a nap.

I am now back in Ottawa after six days in Montreal. After eating my body weight in food I am now back to my regular eating habits. Today’s lunch was a broccoli/caulilower/carrot/zucchini salad with a caesar salad dressing.
