Lunch 2024

Weeeeee! :woman_cartwheeling: :clinking_glasses: :tada:

Bifana on a homemade papo seco bun courtesy of Leite’s Culinaria. Both recipes are excellent and they really hit that craving.

I love its first cousin, pasta peas and bacon. Luckily, 2 local stores make it - all of the time

I’d rather skip the bun too, in lieu of decent fries. Extra lemon.

As I am working on making room in the freezer, today we had baked pork chops. Peppers, onions and baby potatoes joined the chops in the oven. As I had zapped the potatoes, everything took less than twenty minutes.

Dessert was cherry snack cake and a dollop of sour cream.

How many lbs. of broccolini do you go through in a week? I always know it’s you when I see photos of your meals. That tuna melt really calls to me. We had very hot temps today so took ourselves to a local dive bar with A/C and had Bloody Mary’s with clam chowder and steamers. The bar has generous drinks and hit or miss food. We go there mostly for the booze. Their bar pizzas aren’t bad. Some of the stuff that comes out of the kitchen is inedible. Depends who’s cooking and what they’re smoking. We just keep it simple, and always run it by the bartender before we order…

Lately my broccolini habit has only been about 1lb a week :joy:

One of my partner’s restaurants.

Curious—where? Because it sounds right up our alley.

Lost Dog Pub - Orleans. We sit at the bar. Been going there for years. Any port in a storm. Don’t say I didn’t warn you about the food lol.

Bang bang lunch today since our time here is running out & the two places happen to be right across from each other .

To start: the best damn smashburger in town :yum:

— we shared just a single this time with added grilled jalapeños, followed by chicken karaage from a Japanese joint we discovered the first time we came for the burger.

While the chicken pieces may look anemic, they were very crispy & flavorful, with predominantly dark meat. Pickled radish & a (not really) spicy sauce for dipping. Couldn’t finish, of course, so two pieces came back home in my scooter, which now reeks of karaage
