Je sais que le choix préféré du petit-déjeuner en Ontario est un Labatts Blue dans le stationnement de Tim Hortons …
In France, pancakes (crêpes), waffles (gaufres) and French toast (pain perdu) can be eaten as breakfast in individual homes, but it is not usual for home breakfast, it can be eaten all day long, including afternoon tea.
Mod note:
Hi, this discussion is getting a little unfriendly. Please feel free to disagree with each other, but please refrain from sarcasm and personal attacks. If you are not fond of interacting with another user, please just don’t engage. And please focus the discussion itself and not on each other.
Thank you.
So by that thought pattern, the way a recipe is originally created means it should never change. And cold pizza should never be eaten as a breakfast food, because it’s meant to be a dinner food.
How boring. And totally against what enjoying food is all about, regardless of when it’s eaten, whether it’s morning, noon, evening, or the middle of the night.
Your bad faith is mind blowing.
And that is why people aren’t allowed to drink cow’s milk, which was most certainly not created for human consumption. The end.
What I meant was that, even if these are not breakfast foods by design, people can eat them whenever they want. I was saying that just because these did not originate as breakfast foods, it doesn’t mean in any way that people shouldn’t eat them for breakfast.
It is consistent with everything else I’ve written in this thread about letting people do what they want and the fact that I eat these foods for breakfast myself. They have become breakfast foods and that’s great. I have zero problems with that and I never have.
Once again let me be clear and state this for the umpteenth time.
I don’t care what people eat for breakfast. I eat whatever I want, any time I want. You can do whatever you want. It’s none of my business.
Stop trying to pick a fight with me. Be a better person.
I’m leaving this board.
Have a good life.
I’m sorry I ever asked. And I’m dropping this discussion as well.
Who knew pancakes, waffles and french toast could be so contentious?
Not me. I have heard stories of how a good buttermilk pancake with real maple syrup bring entire continents together. Bretton Woods really did happen!
As a semi- obese American I really don’t find any fault in anything that has been said in this thread. Honestly I think it’s rather refreshing and eye opening to hear how other cultures observe our gluttonous ways. I’ve read though the thread and see a lot of people showing some resentment over MonsieurGhislian (happy cake day BTW) and honestly I don’t see the reason for it. I’m assuming MG isn’t American, thus the comments are being taken as an attack against American culture, but I truly didn’t read it that way at all.
Perhaps we take a collective step back, take a fresh look because all I see is someone mentioning that “we” Americans choose to eat something that globally isn’t considered breakfast. I got news for you…“No sh*t”…as a country we have probably single-handedly done more to corrupt the food supply and chain than any other country in history, I can find fault with many people, but someone pointing out America’s diet(s) aren’t the best, hard to find fault with that.
SIde note but true story, I read a very interesting article over the weekend how KFC is culinary elite in Ghana and how obesity rates have risen 650% thanks to the surge in good ole’ American fast food
So my fellow countrymen I kindly ask that we give MG some slack, I didn’t find the comments offensive, but I do find the thinking behind it to be rather valid, sad to say.
So what is the favorite breakfast meat of Quebec?
And is it true that the favorite breakfast drink of Ontario is a Labatts Blue in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons???
Dude, take your pills you’re talking to yourself again.
Merely providing a translation of previous posts in a futile attempt to steer this thread in an equally wrong direction…
Apparently no one remotely connected with Ontario or Tim Hortons lurks among us.
And no Franchies either.
How about you, ever done beer and donuts for breakfast?
Beer and donuts? I can’t say that I have, vodka and donuts yes (bloody mary’s) and beer and cereal yes for sure. Honestly beer and fruity pebbles oddly paired together rather well.
Let me guess, an IPA?
Or maybe a Hefeweizen.
How about Guiness and Lucky Charms? Gotta be some one who does that on St Patrick’s.
What cereal do they eat in Quebec? Pouteenios?
You know I heard poutine is a big weekend breakfast/brunch item in Quebec.
It’s supposed to be good for a hangover.
