Tuna melt
Kirkland (Costco brand) canned chicken is a recent “find” for me, prompted by recommendations somewhere here on HO, I think. Works well as the starting point for chicken salad. Missing all the negative qualities of previously-sampled canned or pouch-packaged chicken.
Needs tomato! Otherwise, no notes.
Please explain!
Which part?
What kind of tacos? I see shrimp? and pickled onions…what other treasures are in there?
Tomato does sound good!
Two Cajun shrimp tacos, one brisket tinga. All excellent ![]()
Potato, egg, chiles, scallions, and cheese breakfast burrito. Sour cream, cilantro, and hot sauce at the table.
We had a half avo from last night’s sushi dinner, lotsa roti chicken inda fridge, portioned out bacon in the freezer, a lil lettuce, new bread… what else to make but a clubby sammie?
We don’t need no stinking 3rd slice o’ bread.
Jumbo lump crab salad, a little Dijon, and teaspoon of vinaigrette was mixed into the mayo. Capers, chives and parsley were part of the additions, red leaf lettuce and pita were the base for the crabmeat. The other side of the toasted pita was served on the side. I was wishing for a glass of Sancerre.

I give you the triple cheese grilled cheese with raclette, havarti, and ultra sharp 'murrcan.
Perfect hangover lunch/brekkie, and served in bed. Bc we are traditionalists in this household.
Had to lock Jake out so as to not have to fight him over it ![]()
‘Brunch’ for me today will be 1/2 ‘cado sandwich on ‘Orca’ bread, mayo, Spike-light sprinkle, romaine and a fatty tomato slice. 1/2 cup of Oikos 20g protein yogurt (prolly vanilla) with 1/2 of a golden kiwi. Hot tea with a splash of apple cider mix. That’ll fill me up for a rest, then the attack on the garage freezer. Can’t wait to find out what I can defrost for tomorrow’s dinner. There is a hunk of monk fish in there, somewhere.
Salmon with side of this roasted sweet potato dish, with warm mango chutney dressing. We’ve enjoyed meals with this many times since 2008, when a commenter posted it on ThornTree cooking site. Today I used a combo of cubed sweet potato and large-diced gold potato, sliced raw red peppers roasted with the potatoes, and cashews since I failed to check my pepita supply ahead of time. Only half the dressing is needed. (Recipe calls for the extra to be passed at the table).
Does Jake get a morsel after you’re finished?
Absolutely not. People food is people food, and they’re already obsessed enough with it.
