Yes, have been when I visited my mother! We both really liked it.
I just found out a couple of hours ago that it is now closed. Apparently there’s a bailiffs notice on the door for non payment of rent.
Oh that’s too bad!!!
For lunch, Neighbor #2 wanted to try to make herself a turkey wrap with the leftover turkey I dropped off yesterday evening. She defrosted some tortillas that she had in the freezer, but they were stuck together (in the middle). So she called me up and asked me if I had any tortillas, I said “No, but I can make some up – give me about 45 minutes and I’ll bring you some” Her response was “You make your own tortillas??” I said “Yea – see you in a few minutes”
I made a 1/2 batch (6 tortillas) and told her is she likes them, I’ll make her a full batch.
Aw. What a doll you are. Your neighbors are lucky folk.
Thank you…
For now, I’m just going to keep cooking meals for Neighbor #2 until she tells me she is OK. There really isn’t much difference cooking for 3 vs. cooking for 2.
You are the nicest neighbour ever. I’ll bet your neighbour really appreciates the meals you’ve been taking her.
That looks so good!
Yes…
As human beings, I think we should all try to help one another, if we can.
At this point in my life, I can help another individual.
I do think the vast majority of people out there are kind and will try to help one another.
Colorful oven ratatouille as a side for commercial meatballs, with small baked potatoes as 2nd side. Layered coin-style in a round dish per recipe photos. Video at the link was also helpful to me - showed width of slices and layering flat in a square pan as recipe suggests. For me the mascarpone cheese didn’t add much and I preferred the rest of my serving topped with parm. Another time, I would not line my dish with foil as I did this first time because I was concerned about tomato sauce sticking / tough cleanup. There’s enough moisture in the dish that the sauce did not stick.
Grilled cheese with triple cream cheese and smoked sausage on sourdough, a side of spicy giardiniera
Gorgeous ratatouille!!
I met up with a friend this morning for a museum hen lunch. When we were making lunch plans, my friend suggested Turkish cuisine and since I’m eager to try it I jumped at the chance. I also credit @linguafood for introducing us to the Turkish food she was eating in Berlin. Now I’m hungry and I want Turkish food! We headed off to a Turkish place in the west end that has been getting good reviews (Turkish Kebab House in Kanata). When we were seated, my DC asked if the portions were generous and the waitress said yes each plate is enough for two. We ordered eggplant in tomato sauce and it came with yogurt and a spicy tomato sauce and it was delicious. We ordered a chicken shish as the main and it came with bulgur, onion salad, and a grilled tomato and jalapeño pepper. Everything was delicious only the bulgur looked more like barley to me. They left a basket of bread at the table to mop everything up. We felt like something sweet to end the meal with so the waitress offered baklava. Since it’s so widely available we asked if there were any other desserts on the menu so from the list she provided, we picked a tres leches cake. I didn’t realize it was Turkish but it was very good. We also had a Turkish coffee with dessert and it was very good. The only picture I took was the bulgur and bread that was left.
So glad you enjoyed your first Turkish meal! It’s one of my favorite cuisines to have when we are in Berlin
I ate there once and did takeout once; can’t remember what I ate, but the meat was a bit overcooked.
Ok, what are you hiding under the slice between 3-5pm?
Showing off that nice char on the bottom me thinks.
