Got together with one of my gal pals at a local Georgian joint that is famous for its soups. We ordered a bowl of pelmeni and a bowl of beef & spinach soup. The pelmeni were abundant & delicious, and the soup also had carrots & potatoes in it.
The other soup came with a little sleeve of sour cream, which is customarily added. We tried with and without, and liked both versions. I found the beef & spinach soup overall more interesting, with tender shreds of beef and an unusual tart note in the broth.
We also shared the imeruli khatchapuri, which seemed to somehow contain about a cup of melted butter Good, but a bit rich.
We each took home a slice of their cake: chocolate honey cake for my PIC and me
pistachio cake for her.
Nice to hang out.
