It was excellent, I must give credit to google.

Tis the season…for jumbo pumpkin pecan pancakes…for dinner.

This would have paired well with a bourbon or an Old Fashioned but it was a dry night for me.

Halibut in saffron scented tomato broth. I thought it was perfectly cooked so I put husband’s back in the oven.

I went a bit too heavy on the saffron, but it smells amazing.

Jumbo artichoke with mayo.

Breakfast for dinner with Beyond breakfast sausage links (not bad for fake meat), fried eggs, freezer tots, fried tomato, and Heinz beans.

Seldom bad eggs, maybe twice, when cracked, the egg was nearly dried up, another time, the yolk colour was dark orange yellow. @bcc Didn’t try to sniff, so no idea if it smelled bad.

I don’t put eggs in the fridge, as most cakes or pastries require eggs of room temperature. English scientists said there is no difference or advantage whether eggs are stored in fridge or room temperature.

That just means the pigment of the chicken feed was different - perhaps a diet higher in corn, as that will tend to color a yolk vs. wheat feed. OR it could mean free-range chickens laid the eggs.

Mmmm, if I remember well, the egg yolk and white was drier and half the size a normal one, and was brownish orange. I was cracking a few eggs at the same time, this colour was really off, the others were yellow, I tossed it.

Yeah, brownish orange is not an appetizing color. I would have tossed it as well.

Thank you! It was SO good. But super rich. Butter and cream all over the place and no moderation to be found except in portion size  My H was all - this is tasty but tomorrow I’m going to the store to buy some salads for lunch! Anyway, I backed away from the ledge today and we’ll be doing a nice and healthy minestrone tonight. Bonus is that I can use up some of my yard tomatoes and yard chard.

Love breakfast for dinner!

Had I been thinking, I wouldn’t have asked @Saregama that question. In the States eggs are pre-washed, so they have to be kept in the fridge. Here in Europe the eggs aren’t washed, so we have a choice as to where to keep them.
