The beach, Tiki torches, comfort food, and Corelle? All in the same evening? I love everything about this.
Pricewise, I think it’s very similar here in the U.S. We can get 10 oz. (283 grams) for $4.99 (4.26 €). They opened a Rana factory in Chicago, Illinois in 2012, and they’ve grown exponentially in the U.S.
Costco has Rana lobster ravioli and usually one other choice.
I think they’re about even to TJs options (some of those have finer pasta - the seasonal ones).
Eh - bad pizza is good sometimes too!
Lobster roll was from a tiny south shore fish shop attached to an auto place - I got the warm drawn butter version, for a change from the cold mayo one, so that roll is drenched in butter It was nicely griddled too. And the seasoned fries. Ok I have to stop now.
Just a quick Insalata Caprese and a pasta … We shall be heading north to Valencia City in the morning.
I had not read about this. This is super news !
I truly enjoy their tortellini … They are very light … And with a home made sauce from scratch, they are a lovely lunch.
I’ve only ever seen Rana do cheese or cheese & spinach. I’ll have to look for their mushroom. Contadina/Buitoni has a tasty mushroom ravioli, if you haven’t tried it. Similar - refrigerated fresh pasta. Half moons. Does anyone make beef ravioli anymore? Everywhere I look, it’s cheese here cheese there…
Deelicious!!
Do you mind sharing the price? I got one last month (3rd lobster roll in life?) and I’m curious how badly I got punished. We paid $20 and got 1/2 as much lobster meat as you, it looks like.
I agree about Rana’s ravs too, love their thin pasta
I traditionally only post my home cooked meals here, however for the heck of it I’ll share a “nosh-take-in-night” looks like around here. A very local place to me makes a wide variety of things including sushi-pizza-burgers and more, and does them all fairly well.
Mango habanero wings (boneless by error) lobster bisque in a sourdough bread bowl (pretty cool to go item) hanger steak salad - Turkey club. (son will hit the lottery when he suddenly gets the munchies at 12am)
A very enjoyable nosh-night!!
I assume the components were packed separately!
Correct, “some assembly is required”.
Big-ass bone-in pork chop, seasoned with Penzeys Tsardust Memories seasoning mix, pan-seared in olive oil and butter, finished in the toaster/convection oven. Topped with a roasted shallot and tomato relish from Food dot com…not too bad.
Sides were leftover rice pilaf and steamed broccoli.
$25 or thereabouts.
But it’s literally a fish shop - there’s nowhere to eat.
That said, it was loaded with lobster - pretty sure there was a whole one in each. They said 6oz of meat, seemed more like 8oz.
Ok @LindaWhit. Please tell me how much of that pork chop you eat vs save for another meal.
I bought two of them today (on sale, looked very fresh) and I think I might eat a whole giant one just because it’s there.
(They’re going to be marinated Vietnamese style.)
It looked very generous.
That big ll’ honker makes two meals for me. And the bone goes into a bag in the freezer with other pork bones to make pork stock at a later date.
Son’s favorite, “mashed, smashed chicken”
