BF took the leftover (no comprendo) smoked brisket i brought for him home (BBQ take-out my sister & I had on Sat.) and simmered it with his tomato sauce, with rigatoni. Really rustically delicious, still full of smoky goodness. Green salad, too, with many things from the fridge that needed to be eaten.

A frosty glass of Bombay rocks, tipsy onions.

Blsl chicken thighs (yes, I eat a lot of blslct but they are so versatle and flavorful too) browned and then roasted with oo, garlic, thyme, Sunsugar cherry tomatoes and
kalamata olives. Cotc and a salad of snap peas, radish, cucumber, shallot, o&v dressing, dill.

Same - they do really well in the Instant Pot, too.

My stomach and heart are both very full from a weekend trip to Boston to hug friends and family I had not seen in coming up on two years. I was anxious about taking the train back, but even more anxious about delta increases making this less possible if I waited much longer.

Much of the food was not memorable  - bad takeout pizza and even worse deli sandwich tray for example

But there was one spectacular meal: my first lobster roll of the season, and the best lobster roll I have ever eaten. Yeah. The fries were pretty solid too.

.

.

There was one meal-by-request - I almost always want fish pie, and it’s always delicious.

.

.

One quick but homey and delicious dinner - breaded chicken breast (sour cream, onion, garlic, panko) with salad and perfect summer tomatoes.

.

And dim sum (take out) one day was decent enough.

Tonight was a CORELLE NIGHT (said no one ever, at least excitedly). In keeping with the running gag…

Headed to the beach with the BF after work to catch the sunset.

Went home, had a couple of drinks to the light of our tiki torches in the garden, and snacked on these cheese stuffed pretzels from Aldi. Not bad, but would not buy again. The pretzel part was actually really good, but the cheese inside was :face_vomiting:.

Dinner: an old school favorite fitting of indestructible and immortal Corelle. Shake and Bake pork chop (for the first time in my life, I actually shook them in the bag provided rather than toss in a bowl like I usually do), mashed potatoes, Campbell’s onion gravy, and buttered peas with some leftover Canadian bacon from Sunday. Classic comfort food. Minimal work but still lots of pots and pans to clean.

I was only buying 750ml bottles this last trip and they were out of Beefeater so I grabbed the Bombay. I like most London dry gins, i just prefer Beefeater.

Which stupidmarket around these parts carries Rana’s?

FWIW, I have tried some of the prepared fresh pastas from Tuscan Kitchen now carried in the refrigerated section at Market Basket. I need to stop this and admit that I don’t care for them. Too commercial in texture for me.

There’s a LOT of bad pizza in Boston, but there’s also some good pizza. Sorry you got the bad crap.

Ooh - where’d you go? Proper split-top bun (it almost looks like a squished glazed donut! LOL) and WONDERFULLY large chunks of lobster!

Hannaford on the edge of Tewksbury/Lowell carries it. It’s in a standalone case near the deli counter, along with the balls of pizza dough.

Hannaford carries tortellini and ravs with various fillings. I’ve had the four cheese, mushroom, chicken and roasted garlic, and spinach/ricotta ravs, and I want to try the prosciutto and cheese. I don’t know if the Lowell store carries all of these listed, but can’t hurt to check them out. Peeps in a FB food group I’m in says their pesto sauce is also very good.

And I don’t think I’ve seen the Tuscan Kitchen fresh pastas in MB. But maybe it’s because I always have Rana’s in my freezer. LOL

@LindaWhit

RANA, is one of the best brands of fresh natural pastas from Italy. We are quite fond of their Tortellini filled with Ricotta and Spinach for a quick lunch on the run …

Not cheap either … 3.89 € for 250 grams.

Also like their Boletus stuffed Tortellini …

Thanks for the recommendations about the Rana pastas, @LindaWhit and @Barca!
ETA: And @retrospek! Whoops, I missed that you are a fan of Rana product too.

The Hannaford that you mentioned is near enough to me, Linda. Also it looks like Market Basket may carry some also. :grinning: If only I thought to use the store locator on the Rana site, sheesh.

I’ll check for product on my next grocery run.
