I made a big batch of polenta, it wasn’t my original intention, I should have made only half of the box instead. I pressed the cooked polenta, still hot in a big tray with a baking sheet, cut them into slides when cooled, I had them for at least 4 meals, fried them or baked them. Liked when they were slightly crispy.
Thanks everyone! You have brightened my day, which is otherwise gloomy and grey.
I was gonna’ make pork chops last night but the kitchen was cleaned from top to bottom, every inch, oven, fridge, you name it. I wanted one more day with no stray crumbs, dishes left drying in the rack, etc…
We are alike! We NEVER cook after the kitchen has been cleaned thoroughly. I don’t want so much as a crumb or even a fingerprint anywhere!
Your wrap looks fab, as does the rest of your food. Slightly OT here, but do you ever go to Zankou Chicken? I love Open Sesame, a small chain. Have been to one in Orange County, not sure if they’re in the LA area though.
Sometimes I can’t resist the urge to cook in my sparkling, clean kitchen. Counters are clear of condiments & stuff and every utensil is put in its place. But I often regret it afterward. Like why did we bother cleaning?
I love Zankou’s Chicken, Garlic Sauce & Hummus. We order it a lot at work. CCC is closer to home and they have a more varied selection of sides. I don’t think we have OS in my ‘hood.
To start off Mrs. P’s birthday weekend we had some excellent takeout from Don Pepe ll seafood restaurant. We had the always awesome stuffed lobster with scallops, shrimp, and crab as well as the seafood stuffed avocado with the same seafood stuffing. It came with a side of crispy Spanish Chips. We also had clams casino. It went great with a 2017 Limerick Lane red zinfandel
We talked our friends into joining us for dinner instead of a brewery outing. On the menu: grilled chicken fajitas with onions, poblanos, crimini mushrooms, and red peppers; homemade whole wheat tortillas made with bacon grease , homemade borracho beans and rice, cucumber salad with orange-coriander dressing, and tons of toppings. My favorite cheap Barbera and IPAs to drink.
