Pork and asparagus stir fry over rice. Since I didn’t have quite as much asparagus as I would have liked, I raided our pasta salad fixings for a couple of cremini mushrooms. Didn’t hurt.

Served with homemade chili crisp.

I wasn’t very hungry. Bean and sausage soup from the freezer, the other half of the salami, cheese and pickle sandwich I had for lunch.

Helping a friend out with a project, and he made an absolutely fab chicken and gnocchi soup. We ended up making a ST of modifications, but it was reasonably healthful and filling. Even better tomorrow im sure!

I am embarrassed to say I cannot recall what TPSTOGAG stands for and could not find where I safely kept my copy of the page of translations you typed up for us. When I find it, think I am going to paste on front screen of the computer. Will someone refresh my memory, please?

It looks absolutely delicious.

I’m not @linguafood but I’m pretty sure TPSTOGAG stands for The Proverbial Shit Ton Of Garlic And Ginger.

I had taken today off to run some errands then off for an early dinner and a double feature with the Ottawa Film Society however I had a late start to the day. I was going to get started this morning then come home for lunch then off to Chinatown but the elevators in my building had broken down so I waited until they were operational before venturing out. I was finally able to head out after lunch and since I had a lot of ground to cover I got home late. I decided to hang out at home tonight and have a tomato cucumber salad then spaghetti with a marinara sauce. I’m planning on seeing Cirque Life tonight since I’m home to see it.

Big blue cheese salad with buffalo chicken. Memo to self: make more dinner salads, they make you happy. And if you wash the lettuce early in the day they are easy.

Beef stir fry with red cabbage, red bell pepper, red onion and lots of cilantro for a hit of green.

Sauce was a mixture of soy sauce, beef stock, hoisin and this Sichuan sauce from Lee Kum Kee:

It’s not actually all that spicy but does have a nice ma la kick and fermented funk. A couple of tablespoons in about two cups of beef stock (with cornstarch to thicken) made plenty of flavorful sauce for 1.5 lbs beef and probably 6 cups of veg total. I added chile crisp to mine for extra spice. Can’t wait for leftovers tomorrow!
