Chicken tenders, confetti rice, hearts of Little Gem.
Your meals always look so good!
Aww thanks
. Good lighting and a good camera really makes a difference ![]()
Your good taste doesn’t hurt, either.
For dinner, I made myself another bowl of ’ as authentic as possible ’ Hong Kong style Won-Ton noodles! This time with added imported ’ Hong Kong Aberdeen style fish balls, ’ bought from a store inside of First Markham Place.
Fish balls were surprisingly bouncy and tasty.
A weirdly warm day that got cloudier with every hour passing. Big rains forecast for the rest of the night — always so cozy & romantic to listen to from inside ![]()
‘twas my dood’s long day, made even longer by a zoom lecture for some rando class in FL after his regular classes.
I had a gorgeous piece of salmon from Aldi that I slathered with a mix of kewpie roasted sesame dressing & that fab Viet hot kumquat sauce. Kumquat hot sauce? ![]()
Popped it in the AF for less than 10 min at 400˚F until med-well. Strangely enough, the slathering seemed to entirely disappear during the AF process. All we could taste was the salmon, and since my PIC’s not the biggest fan I’d hoped this combo would make it more palatable for him. I’d only ever made this sauce for dippin’ roti chicken in it. Oh, well.
Our current obsession aka Filipino garlic rice & a salad from a crisper scrounge (2 gem lettuces, ½ a teeny head of radicchio, a coupla Persian cukes, avocado) & flavor bombs on the side.
At least the sides were very tasty. Ya win some, ya lose some ![]()
Busy day today, so WFD was a quickie. Pork and cabbage potstickers from frozen in homemade stock with garden veg (spinach, asparagus) and leftover Jasmine rice. A pinch of Japanese 7 spice made it taste like someone actually planned for dinner.
Nothing says Spring in CA like a big, fat, meaty artichoke perfectly steamed. Honey Mustard Dressing and a Bloody Mary for accompaniments. $4.99 for the artichoke at Albertsons.
Crispy Sour Cream and Onion Chicken tenders. BA salad of mixed baby greens, baby wild red arugula, green onion, celery, grape tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, orange mini bell. cambazola, ranch dressing.
Fantastic. Miss my artichokes living 30 miles away from Castroville.
BTW, this was taken at ’ Tasty’s '…one of the top Won-Ton noodle shops in Hong Kong!
Proud of the similarity and better taste profile of my ‘amateur’ creation!
We enjoyed an outstanding anniversary dinner at That Supper Club pop up restaurant in Park Ridge, NJ including grilled dew drop cabbage with chicharrones; radiatori Amatraciana; Hokkaido scallops; A5 wagyu and main uni on toasted milk bread; oysters; prosciutto wrapped around fresh herbs; kombu cured chicken yakitori; hamachi crispy rice; toasted nori agnolotti stuffed with shrimp; 40 day dry aged filet mignon; champagne mango panna cotta for dessert. It all went great with an excellent cabernet and Malbec. The menu at the end gives more details.
Pasta e fagioli–shredded chicken, garbanzos, bok choy in a light tomato sauce with fusili corti bucati.
Now, that’s my kind of salad.
That looks seriously wonderful.
Yum! Did you reference a recipe for the chicken?
Those look amazing! After reading the recipe, I might try this - 1/8" canola oil is doable (vs. several inches for full-on fried chicken).
This one’s also been lingering in my recipe box for eons. Of course it is. It’s a chicken dish ![]()
