I’m so sorry to hear that. It must be hard for her but even worse that she has to use her non-dominant hand. Sending healing thoughts her way!

Thank you… Yes, it’s just one of those things – part of getting older, I guess.
I have now have two inhalers in my hot little hands. Let’s hope they work! Tonight’s dinner was another kale salad. Good thing I like kale!
I feel like we ate our weight in food last week, so lighter fare was called for tonight…. like cheeborgerz n fries ![]()
TJ’s chuck & brisket patties on Wegmans’ seeded Kaiser roll, which provides the perfect balance of heft & floffiness a proper bun requires. They don’t skimp on the sesame seeds, either
Ultra sharp ‘murrcan, shredded iceberg, red onion, Duke’s & Heinz. Kewpie and MOAR Heinz for the fries.
We’ll fast some other day….
Thats the crazy part…its being hosted by the mayor of a smallish town a couple of hours north of me.
The Rev War only saw a couple of skirmishes in north Florida, primarily around Pensacola and St Augustine so I suppose hes riding the coattails of the 250.
We had a pizza night tonight.
One with lemon ricotta, brussel sprouts, grilled eggplant and a bit more cheese, because why not?
One with Italian sausage, red peppers, mushrooms and and the last of the bocconcini from the depths of the fridge. The peppers and mushrooms were chopped up very small so there were some in each bite.
I didn’t even make a salad. Back to healthy eating tomorrow.
Homemade pork-and-cabbage dumpling soup, with spinach and leftover rice. I sauteed a little garlic and ginger before adding homemade stock and using that as a base in the broth for steaming. Served with black vinegar, smoked soy sauce, and homemade chili crisp.
Frozen spinach from last year’s garden harvest.
AND because this was such a light and healthy dinner, there was a plum torte for dessert to mitigate all that.
Leek, bacon, ham, gruyère quiche from the freezer, added fresh gruyere and parsley. Asparagus with butter and Dash herb and garlic seasoning, the other half of the artichoke with a mayo/mustard dip.
Root canal, temporary crown, and four and a half hours in traffic round trip so I needed something comforting for dinner. Salad ain’t it but it’s what I’m having. Some good news-my home repairs should be completed this week.
Pan-fried black cod, mashed potatoes, fresh English peas. I discovered the secret to a crispy panko crust: mix in about 20% rice flour.
Love the amount of gravy on your plate! ![]()
I want to dive into that bowl!
That’s great news about the home repair progress! Hope you are back in your own kitchen soon & can take a break from all that salad!
I’d been craving the nyt white buffalo beans dish. It’s carrots and celery and garlic cooked in butter, then adding franks hot sauce and white beans, topped with panko and blue cheese to bake. Used rancho gordo coco beans and also added the last of some leftover chicken shwarma from the freezer. Topped with celery leaves. Really was just the thing for today! Also had a beer with it! Should have gotten a pic where you could see the beans
Braised Tofu with Vegetables from Cook’s Illustrated recipe - firm tofu is dried and then pan-dried until nicely browned. Subsequently it gets braised with ginger and scallion whites in a mixture of chicken broth, soy sauce, chili-garlic sauce and sugar. During the braising you add over time carrots, shiitake mushrooms, scallion greens and snow peas. Thickened with cornstarch and served over rice
Looks delicious! ![]()
Thank you - t’was! ![]()
I am unfamiliar with this. From whence did it come?
