Am I your grandmother? Downsizing leftovers is one of my most favorite thing to do.

Please savor that every time you do that. I miss cooking for my Mom or calling her and asking about a long-ago recipe she used to make.

LOVE the height on that quiche!

Wait - they didn’t allow for a break for lunch? :open_mouth:

Thank you! I filled it to the rim. :face_with_peeking_eye:

They actually gave us a longer than usual lunch break but I didn’t want to leave the building.

Sorry to derail the topic, but what do you guys put the kewpie mayo on? Every single store in Ottawa has it but I never know what to do with it…

I love dipping french fries into it.

I have made fried tofu with toasted sesame and dressed it with this over some mixed greens and a spiced pear salad.

That sounds really good! I will have to try it.

my favorite.

anything you’d do with any other mayonnaise. deviled eggs, potato salad, sandwiches, making dressings with it, etc. I also use it if i make onigiri (rice triangles) - mix it in with the rice and any other ingredients before putting it into a form.

I’m still working my way through a ton of potatoes right now so I’ve been taking a lot of potato salads to work for brown bag lunches. I will have to add some kewpie mayo to them. And adding it to rice sounds good too!

If you have an Asian (or Japanese) supermarket close-by try to buy any kewpie product there (Japanese version). The japanese products taste quite different (andI think much better) as they use MSG directly (and not yeast extracts) and they are much less sweet

Thanks! I’m not sure if we have any Japanese grocers but a lot of our Asian stores sell products from a variety of Asian countries. For example, the two grocers I shop at are Chinese and Korean respectively so they sell predominantly Chinese/Korean food but they also sell other Asian foods too. We have a small market in Ottawa but the stores we have seem to sell a variety of products. When I buy kewpie mayonnaise I will read the label to make sure they use MSG.
