Yup, starting with a small dose, working up to the normal level after a few weeks. I have no self control whatsoever when it comes to food, so this might be the best way for me to lose weight. I can’t just wear black t-shirts for ever
I recently picked up that 20g protein Chobani (vanilla flavor) for my elderly neighbor.
Do you like it? Is it very sweet?
I think the fam stocked up on Oikos Pro for me. I ike the peach and they slipped in a vanilla which I was avoiding. I was pleasantly surprised, I added booberries and it was actually good. For the 4 pm snacky, it hit the spot. They are quite sweet I have to admit.
I astilbe. I have a shady spot in my yard that is all astilbe, ferns, brunerra and moss and it is so beautiful.
I had never even heard of them before! We just told the landscaper to suggest flowers and plants, and this was one of them
I looked them all up, and the decision was pretty easy. They are stunning.
Omg my mom was dieting when I was in my teens and so she was always giving me “tips” that I didn’t ask for. One was, if you’re hungry after 8pm, go to sleep. So practical! Lol
Congrats! I also want to eat all my meals. I’ve been logging via noom and overall eating better now that I don’t have 2 kids at home all the time to feed who do need their calories. 11 months on Noom and minus 42lb give or take.
I think that’s an old one from Weight Watchers! It got updated to “If you are out of points for the day and still hungry, go to bed.” lolsob
That’s fantastic! Congratulations!!
Thanks! I’ve been trying to stay in my allotted points for the day. A lot of the low points foods are now quite filling so no fear of me running out of points. Unless I keep dipping into those cakes I’m trying a little harder to stay away from the sweets this week so hopefully I can lose a pound or two.
And congratulations to you too! Glad to hear noom is working for you.
Looks excellent!
That recipe sounds great. Nice execution!
Thank you! I learned a few things:
1.) @Amandarama was correct that a nice rustic loaf for soaking up the sauce, instead of the pilaf, would be a good fit here.
2.) Any leftover shrimp, chilled overnight in that sauce, is killer good the next morning! Next time I make it I might hold some shrimp back to do just that, serving it as an appie the next day. Really delicious.
She did something called nutri system. But about the same. She thought eating in the evening was a cause of weight gain. I think that’s been debunked.
My mom did NutriSystem, too! That’s probably what I may be thinking of.
Good luck!
My poor PIC had to be online for an international conference at 7am (!) today. I also didn’t sleep as long as I would’ve liked to & have been dragging all day — punishment for last night’s shenanigans. After a nourishing lunch of leftover tacos that brought our energy back ever so slightly, we had the pest control guy over again, as our house seemed to have been sprayed by a skunk yesterday… just in time for my ladies to show up
The guy couldn’t find any (and thank goodness for that! ) and suggested it probably just got freaked out by something, sprayed & left the premises. He also recommended putting charcoal around the house and in the basement (where the smell is the most intense). I guess charcoal smell beats skunk smell, but… it kinda looks like a confused and very disappointed Santa made an unseasonal visit to our abode
We made our way ‘uptown’ in our continuing search for replenishment of our Herdez avocado hot sauce stash & found a few bottles at Wegmans. We also swung by the Korean market and scored a loaf of Japanese milk bread, delivered freshly from a NYC bakery.
I’d been fantasizing about a BLT with perfectly ripe maters, Duke’s and thick-sliced bacon on that bread ever since I found out it’s available in town… if you get there within a half hour of delivery, otherwise it’s all gone >poof<
And so, WFD was this GOAT BLT:
A simple yet delicious mixed salad (spring mix, Persian cukes, radish, avo, tomatoes, celery) with pimped buttermilk ranch on the side. For our health!
Early night tonight, for sure!
Thanks
Tonight I made [chicken] merguez sausage patties from Smitten Kitchen/Julia Turshen, which we tucked into toasted ww pitas with the herbed yogurt, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, romaine lettuce, pickled onion, and shatta. Hummus and olives on the side. My DH was really into these (thanks @LulusMom1) – I only got 3! Our kiddo had the same mix as a burger but with tomato paste subbed for the harissa. Our side was Brussels sprouts slaw with lemon, walnut and olive oils, toasted walnuts, Parm Regg, and anchovy paste.
