What's For Dinner #117 - Time to Dig in the Dirt! Edition - April 2025

Geez you have a lot to deal with right before your departure for Berlin. I hope you didn’t lose too much. Glad to hear the power is back on though.

Yeah, the cleaning and laundry and packing had to be postponed one day, so we’re a bit behind. But we’ll get it all done

My PIC just had some yogurt from the fridge and is still upright

Well that’s a good sign  Good luck with the cleanup. I hope all goes well for you!

Ingredients?

The California Roll (that I make) has Krab (imitation crab), avocado and cucumber.

The rice is sushi rice that has been treated with a (heated) rice vinegar/sugar/salt solution prior to being applied to the nori sheet. I sprinkle the (applied) rice with white sesame seeds as I am preparing each roll.

Thanks for that eGullet post. I was pleased to see that a favorite from one of the posters is the 1:4 ratio of rice and potato flour, exactly what I use.

I’m a fan of eGullet - quite often there is some very good advice contained there-in.
