Thank you!
Oh my! I guess the now-Flagler college in St. Augustine, FL was modeled on something similar! https://images.app.goo.gl/1c6E5tk8TppoXmcUA
Happy belated!!!
Thank you!
I really wanted two birthday cakes this year since the Italian grocer I shop at has a really good tiramisu and one of the grocery stores I shop at has some really delicious cakes so I bought both! Last night I had the tiramisu. I really wanted a chocolate marble cake from the grocery store but they didn’t have any out so I bought a truffles cake which I had this evening. I had a pork and green bean stirfry as the main then the cake after.
That truffle cake looks divine! No candle?
Happy birthday @ottawaoperadiva!
Nope no candle I was in too much of a hurry to scarf down my cake
I actually bought that cake at metro - a popular grocery chain here in Canada. They have a few stores here in Ottawa but I shop at their downtown location since it’s in my neighbourhood. The store closed six years ago since an apartment building went up where the store was located but it re-opened last summer when the building was completed. The store is on the first floor of the apartment. They seem to bake all their cakes in-house and they are a little fancier than most grocery stores.
After a lazy day that included a short road trip to Titusville for a lovely lunch, sitting at the pool and watching more doggo shenanigans, we gathered again around the kitchen table for SE’s pull-apart garlic, peperoni & cheese knots,
spaghetti and Sunday gravy,
and a fresh salad with yarden arugula, olives, red onion, cukes, tomatoes, gorgonzola.
The Sunday gravy was already simmering away when we arrived yesterday, scenting the house with mouthwatering aromas of meatballs & homemade sausage bathing in delicious tomato sauce.
We eat well here, no doubt
We don’t need no stinkin’ candle when there’s a dark chocolate cake waiting to be enjoyed!
Happy birthday, @ottawaoperadiva !
Happy Birthday!
What kind of cabbage? Looks great (I can ignore the caraway ).
Regular ol’ green cabbage, and if you don’t like caraway, you can use cumin.
Burger, fries, pickles and Mexican coke. Mayo, lettuce, sweet onion, kumato, ketchup, Schweid & Sons patty, extra sharp cheddar and Velveeta, whole grain mustard on a sourdough bun. Ore-Ida fast food fries. Homemade pickles. Dessert is the rest of the coke, Kahlua and heavy cream. It’s addictive.
Exactly! And thank you for the birthday wishes.
Thank you!
Started out making Gambas Al Ajillo and ended up with Shrimp Scampi. Delicious no matter what it’s called!
