BF had a repeat of leftovers again - meatloaf, polenta, sauteed zukes, and marinara sauce he made (from Early Girl tomatoes i was going to roast !! oh well, there’s still more where those came from), and he made me a big arugula salad with my dijon/lemon/shallot vinaigrette.

It was 90 degrees today. I finally got my crowns and I need to baby them for 24 hours so something softish for dinner. NYT Dumpling Tomato Salad With Chile Crisp Vinaigrette. I used chicken potstickers that I cut in half so they would be easier to eat and instead of fried shallots I used Onion Crunch that I keep in the freezer. It was delicious, will definitely make again.

A good ending to the night. A hot toasty buttered English muffin with Jif peanut butter and grape jam. Yum.

The butcher counter had a tiny end of boneless leg of lamb, maybe 3/4 pound. Roasted, served with mashed potatoes, haricots verts, and sauce from chanterelles (on special at the market) sauteed in the pan drippings.

DH loves yum yum sauce. Over any vaguely healthy stir fry.

This is on my short list of recipes to try!

The Chile Crisp Vinaigrette Recipe made the dish. I’m wondering what other things I can use it on.

Friends of ours made it for a potluck, and I found it a bit bland. Perhaps they were skimping on the vinaigrette? It sounds so good!

Tonight I cooked for my extended family - baked lemon chicken leg quarters, milk rolls (family recipe), broccoli with olive oil and bouquet garni, and mac and cheese. I scorched the chicken skin a little bit trying to get it crispy under the broiler. Oops. Served with a lemony gravy made from the drippings (not pictured).
