Congratulations!!! Many more!
The wife and I will celebrate our 22nd in 8 days! Must have been something in the air at that time.

thank you! and same to you!
Happy anni! Our 25th (!) is tomorrow. You and your BF are so lucky to have one another — great cooks both, and fabulous company! Here’s to many, many more together
Wow! Congrats to a trifecta of happy couples!!!
@mariacarmen @Google_Gourmet @linguafood Happy anniversary and I hope you have many, many more.
Still enjoying last night’s shrimp and crawfish étouffée. We had it with cornmeal dumplings tonight! We will finish the last of it up tomorrow. This is one of our favorites!
WAIT TILL YOU SEE MY DINNER!
Congratulations and best wishes for more celebrations!
Jeez, I’m trying to remember 22 years…sooo long ago!
Continuing with a seafood theme,
Last night’s din din was crab quiche and a green salad of sorts with fridge clean outs, bits and bobs.
Quiche is a take off from an old Sunset Magazine Favorites cookbook.
I cheated with refrigerated pie crust roll, but no other short cuts in the quiche. The salad was drizzled with a lemon/shallot vinaigrette type dressing. Baguette ‘croutons’
~sitting here with baited breathe~
Gotta eat from the freezer, 'cause I’m full up in every location!
Turkey Chili on elbow noodles, with grated Manchego cheese, sour cream, and green onions.
Wine. Because it’s my Sunday. Back to the grind tomorrow.
Sorry for the upset, I hope it gets better!
Reunions can be difficult!
Thanks The university really dropped the ball on homecoming events this year. I lost three days of my week in town when I could have been doing other stuff including meeting up with a high school friend that I’ve been trying to connect with for ages. Either she’s busy or I am so I have resolved that 2025 is the year it’s gonna happen. I do have a couple of restaurants to recommend but it will probably be Thursday by the time I write up a trip report
Off to make potato salads for lunches tomorrow and Wednesday.
I believe today was the first day since we arrived that the sun didn’t shine. Wut! We want our money back, Lebowski!
My dude had yet another interview for a podcast this morning, which unfortunately started at 9am and was impossible to sleep thru . I sorely regretted staying up till 3am reading. Oy
The weather didn’t particularly motivate us to venture much further than the Sprouts market down the road, where we picked up SALAD fixins (gem lettuce, wild red arugula, radishes), and a lobster bisque to add to tonight’s dinner. I made a Cajun shrimp salad with half an avocado, finely diced celery, a homegrown long red pepper that turned out to pack a fiery punch, fresh parsley, a lil crème fraiche, a touch of mayo, a squeeze o’catsup
, a squirt of lemon, and Penzey’s Cajun seasoning.
My PIC pronounced it my best rendition of a shrimp salad so far. Noice
The bisque was fairly rich and — contrary to honkman’s dismissive review of it — had a pronounced lobster flavor & and even some teeny tiny lobster bits
All it needed was a lil s&p and a splash of sherry that we’d brought to Philly after all, @Amandarama . Leftover salad from last night’s dinner for something greener than the celery & avocado
A crustacean-heavy meal, like seemingly many other’s tonight.
Oh, man … I love a quiche. Crab takes it over the top.
Joining you, sistah …
Shellfish two ways! To quote @linguafood Noice!
