We enjoyed another sensational dinner at The Circle Restaurant, in Newton, NJ, including an outstanding hen of the woods with CELERIAC PURÉE, PICKLED JIMMY NARDELLO, YUZU KOSHO, MUSHROOM DEMI-GLACE; whole roasted lobster with GUAJILLO COMPOUND BUTTER, GARLIC, ESCAROLE, FOCACCIA CROUTON; Australian lamb chops with crispy HOUSEMADE FALAFEL, SPICED YOGURT, CHILI CRISP, MARINATED CUCUMBER; ROASTED SWEET POTATO GNOCCHI, SESAME, BROWN BUTTER, SZECHUAN PEPPERCORN; homemade tagliolini with CHESTNUT FONDUE, MATSUTAKE, CHESTNUT CRUMB, SOFT POACHED EGG, CHERVIL; It all went great with a couple of excellent cabernets. Pleae excuse the CAPS :slightly_smiling_face: I copy and pasted the menu descriptions.

I guess call this Gambas al Ajillo but sautéed with string beans because I wanted to include a vegetable and not just have protein and rice. Olive oil, butter, dry vermouth, smoked paprika, fresh parsley, and lots of garlic. Would make again absolutely. I wish I defrosted more shrimp.

Spanish rice was from BF’s leftover meal last night when we went out to our usual Portuguese spot. He had chicken and rice. Portion was so enormous that he got two meals out of it and I took some rice for my side tonight. And there was still more left in the pan that I may or may not have devoured later on…

Polish take-out from Café Polonez in Toronto tonight: borscht with mushroom dumplings, pork schnitzel with mushrooms, perogies, potato pancake stuffed with pork goulash, and lecso with kidney beans. We ate right away so I didn’t take photos of all the dishes.

What temp and time ?

Last nights dinner was my new and improved lentil vegetable fritters.
I made them up on Saturday, so I could re-heat them on Sunday evening during Halftime (NFL). I got the original recipe from Enfes Yemekler Tarifleri on youtube.
Some mixed vegetables rounded out our meal.

That looks good!

(If you could, would you please link the specific recipe? I looked at the YouTube channel but couldn’t figure out which one it was.)

Here is the original video. I add a little yeast to the dough, add a few more vegetables inside and I coat the final fritter with and egg wash and white sesame seeds.

A Mortar and Pestle make quick work of it as well (I have had Rice break my Braun Grinder in the past). It really is a small amount.

Do you have a recipe for the sourdough tortillas? Sounds like a great idea!

Home made chicken soup, carrots, celery and rice. Some onions and spicy things. Was very good with saltines, on a chilly Monday night.

We had slow roasted, coriander and black pepper crusted celery root (Ottolenghi Simple) and salmon with roasted tomatillo sauce, thickened with almonds (freezer find, probably a riff on a Rick Bayless recipe).

First the slow roasted celery root. Look at this absolute unit!

And, here’s a picture of one of the tacos, with the interior of the celery root in the background.

That’s what I use, and I would not call it quick. Maybe I make too much? I really like it and would miss it.

I made calzones with creamed spinach, smoked turkey, and Swiss (as well as two other kid-friendlier varieties), served with Brussels slaw with pepitas.

And too, too many:
