bacon, arugula, potato and egg
Paneer sandwich on toasted cheese bread, using some leftover tandoori paneer from last night’s take-out.
Double cheese, yeah!
Potato and Pickle Sandwich from Linny’s Luncheonette for brunch today.
On my list of places to try…
What’s special about Kouign Amann? There’s a place here that specializes in it (albeit it may not be the best), and I’ve tried it a few times, but was not impressed.
A good one is like a buttery, crispy, decadent laminated dough treat, a bit sweet with a touch of saly.
A lot of them in Canada and the States are just okay.
This place gets it as close as I’ve had to my first one in Brittany, in 2008.
It is a Breton specialty, and the butter in Brittany is especially good. So it’s probably one of those pastries that’s best ordered in France. Of course, I no longer travel to Europe so I make du with what is available in Ontario.
I was chasing the Kouign Amann dragon for about 8 years, and have up for a while.y friend had never tried one so I decided to order this one and split it with her.
My spinach started to flower, so I picked it all a few days ago. This is what my last bag of spinach became.
Spinach, a spare fingerling potato, and green onions sautéed in butter, eggs added to that, and a few leftover taters from Mary Brown’s fried chicken take-out last night warmed in the frying pan.
2 slices of local Metzger’s bacon, too.
This is brunch for 2.
