What's for breakfast (aka what's going to happen exciting today)?

There’s a song from ‘Frozen’ that comes to mind, but maybe her circumstances percipitated her odd behavior.

The not wanting to continue exchanging gifts is practical. She has a child, a husband and in-laws, as well as 2 siblings and her parents. A friend is lower on the totem pole. I’m an only child with no kids and no partner, so giving gifts to friends and family at Xmas is more important to me, and I don’t have the expenses that come with having a kid, a husband or in-laws. It saves her time and money to not shop for a friend, and it means more money is freed up for the kid , husband and in-laws. I get it. Maybe I would do the same.

Yikes!

I once (foolishly) staged a latke-thon dinner for several friends. I never knew so few people could consume so many latkes. Mine surely didn’t look grey like that! (must have been the knuckle blood that prevented oxydation). And they weren’t square … dang- those things look like breakfast bars - TBH the lingering frying smell just clung to everything in my condo for days. :joy:. Won’t be doing that again any time soon.

My standard & favorite winter breakfast: Fage with perfectly ripe pomegranate. I love the dark red garnet pearls against the snow white canvas… that is until I SMASH them up to let the sweet-tart juice mingle with the creamy milkiness of the yogurt

Ran through a list of crunchy foods to avoid with my dentist last month when he fit a crown on one of my bottom molars. My husband and I both broke teeth eating wasabi peas. My dentist laughed about that one. He & I both agreed we don’t eat popcorn, and he advised me to avoid whole almonds - apparently he gets a lot of business from those!

I usually crush them up into smaller pieces, but my laziness got the better of me this time  I broke/cracked a tooth on vacation in Barcelona years ago on, of all stupid things, a chicken wing bone! Luckily it was on my last day there and got back home and to my dentist the day after I landed .

Ice cream for breakfast is what life is all about, especially when it’s served over warm homemade brownies.

Crunchy style peannut butter broke a toothie for me one September. I had to wait weeks until hunting season was over to have it looked over.

Ouchie. About that hunting season - I spent a number of adolescent years in Arenac County, Michigan. We didn’t have school on the first days of hunting season. This was back in the mid to late 60’s. I remember being with a bunch of other kids entertaining ourselves watching traffic going through town and counting the deer strapped to the vehicles. Reflecting on it, that was kind of a brutal, sick diversion. I don’t think many of us had televisions back in those days, especially watching programs in the daytime.

Low carb breakfast cause I’ve been scarfing down way too many lately(and there’s moar to come)
Fried eggs, tomato slices, fried ham. I usually like my eggs over easy, but because there was no bread to sop up the runny yolk, over medium had to do…

So busy today, just now posting WFB.

Egg-salad sandwiches on last night’s bake of honey-oat bread. Home-smoked silver salmon with cream cheese on crackers. Last summer’s garden pickles.

Crappy photo. Good breakfast.
