Oat and blueberry scone. Not pictured: two soft boiled eggs.
Solar oven baked eggs, French style (eoufs cocotte)… Under the egg is a small amount of whatever leftovers you have in the fridge. A bit of shredded duck, some cooked mushrooms and a dollop of creme fraiche today. Just had to eat a bit late waiting for enough sun to cook my egg ![]()
You just left your egg in the sun? For how long?
Yes, but with the help of a solar oven… After the oven got up to 100°C I popped it in, not sure how long it took but less than 30 min.
Oh! I did not know such a thing existed (I thought you were just using a cute term for “the sun”). Cool.
I had a student who built a solar oven and made the best bacon I’ve ever had.
A sad looking excuse for a very tasty omelet! Sorrel from the terrace and homemade ricotta were the fillings for the one egg omelet…learned my lesson that it has to be two eggs for the pan I was using.
Good news is that I’ll be making it again, but with two eggs! English muffin was on the side.
Two scrambled eggs with Vidalia onions. Coffee and English muffin with strawberry preserves didn’t make it to the photo
Hurray for Vidalias back in your kitchen ![]()
I have so little appetite that anything that gooses it is a good thing!
Experimenting with the ‘unilateral’ cooking method and one of my favourite simple breakfast items - the pork ribeye…
Probably not one to try at home given the negative reputation ‘undercooked’ pork has.
different looking like H R Giger, but equally artistic and far from sad ![]()
And now I have Patrick Swayze singing “I’m Henry the Eighth, I Am” by Herman’s Hermits while Whoopi Goldberg is trying to sleep in the movie “Ghost” in my head.
Oh. To me that is solely a Ramones reference ![]()
