A new year with new mornings! What’s on your breakfast plate?
Scrambled egg(one) with diced onion, which I made in my Demeyere Silverline Nanotouch 7 pan. Thread about the pan Here
Sloppily plated on a palm leaf disposable plate. The egg didn’t stick, but I usually do my scrambled eggs in a stainless pan anyway. First run for the Demeyere. Had forgotten about it since my hospital adventures.
Ham steak fried in butter. Herby scrambled eggs. A cheddar-parmesan loaf for toasting. Homemade strawberry-rhubarb jam.
Happy New Year!

given that old geezers rarely make it to mid-night . . .
this morning was eggs (salmon) benedict and mimosas . . .
Had a friend over to watch the mayoral inauguration. We were considering going to the block party, but it is COLD here, so we bailed. Afterwards, around 3pm, we went for breakfast at Wu’s Wonton King: fish congee, dried shrimp rice roll, wonton soup (for her). Starting the year off right!
Breakfast sandwiches made from Joanne Chang’s baked eggs with scallions and chives. Bacon. Cheddar-parm toast.
I made a half-ish recipe in an 8x4” loaf pan, using 4 eggs (2 sandwiches) and cutting the cream back by 1/3. The result is a little eggier than as written due to the reduction in cream, but I prefer it this way.
That might be the darkest, reddest smoked salmon I’ve seen! Is it king?
Gorgeous sammies, as usual!
Tacos. Our favorite taco slinger was open for the first time today after the holidays, and we do love his Cajun shrimp tacos. The third in the flight was roasted pork.
Extraordinarily delish today ![]()
Thanks! The package says wild sockeye salmon.
The uszh: Fage with smashed up poms and (new to me) red kiwi. Doesn’t taste much different from the golden kiwi I get, but the last package of those had 4 I had to toss immediately ![]()
