Breakfast this morning included scrambled eggs and peameal bacon with a lil Marie Sharpe’s hot sauce on the side.
Took a while for me to be hungry again after last night’s fabulous feast… until 4pm, to be exact.

one of my childhood favorites: 2 soft boiled eggs over a slice of whole wheat toast cut into chunks, topped with bacon.
Sometimes, you just need a bagel with lox & shmear.*
More pacifically: the top of a toasted sesame bagel with a shmear of local garlic & herb cream cheese that is like crack, and lovely smoked salmon with very thinly sliced shallot.
*Yeah, I know lox ≠ smoked salmon.

My cucumber joy was short lived. Today at the grocery store (Safeway/Albertson’s) all the mini cukes were labeled Product of Mexico. Same appearance as before, and same packaging and store branding, but not anything which grew relatively close to our neck of the woods (ie PNW Canada). Boo hoo. ![]()
My most satisfying omelette based breakfast to date…
Three egg omelette garnished with Kashmiri chilli flakes and Basque fleur de sel, with a substantial side of a whole sliced avocado adorned with soured cream, grated cheese, ground black pepper, lashings of habanero Tabasco, and flakes of fried streaky bacon.
Starting the day off with a kick!
