I thought it was really good - the bread and cream were sweet but not too sweet, letting the strawberries take centre stage. And unlike the savoury sandwich offerings, it’s just one triangle of sandwich in the box, so even though it’s rich, you can have the one triangle and feel satisfied. A bit expensive though - £3.20 for a one triangle sandwich. Clever marketing to coincide with Wimbledon.
My attempt at the Boursin Omelette With Sour Cream and Onion Potato Chips from The Bear
Would have had more structural integrity for proper shaping if I’d used 3 eggs for the 8 inch pan, but it was still very tasty!
Herb-marinated goat cheese with tarragon and chives. Multi grain crackers. Deviled eggs. Strawbs.
Berries and everything green from the garden.
Sausage Egg and Cheese on a Kaiser at Made Rite in Toronto’s Kensington Market.
The red sauce is comprised of ketchup and hot sauce.
This sandwich was too big for me. I ended up eating the filling from the second half and tossing most of the Kaiser roll.
Egg salad sandwiches on a home-made, seeded, multi-grain loaf. Strawbs.
Lettuces, scallions, and berries from the garden.
great photo, i’m literally eating with my face!!
Breakfast this morning is another protein smoothie. Time to prep myself for all the sightseeing I will be doing this afternoon
Since fancy $$$mushi (and Japanese milk bread) wasn’t in the cards tonight / before we leave town, we went back to our old haunt for their lunch special. Still the best miso soup I’ve ever had, anywhere.
Got two orders of my favorite nigiri
and split this tempura salmon. avocado & random lettuce roll with my boo.
The goddesses willing we’ll be back next year
Same to you!
This sounds and looks perfect!
Thanks! I have been mindful of trying to use this wedge up before it gets too, too ripe (I love me a ripe brie, but, sometimes it gets too far along before I can finish it). It’s been serving well in one ounce servings in place of butter and even gives me a little extra protein in the AM!
It’s the circle of food
Since the airport is a culinary desert & we wanted breakfast/brunch/something before making our way out here, we went to the breakfast place directly across from our pad this summer, where we also had our first (mediocre) dinner on the evening of our arrival — seems like yesterday
In any event, the man and I split the “Kreuzbergteller” with a dark & light roll each, avo & tomato salad, gravlax with honey mustard sauce & dill, scrambled eggs with mozzarella, basil & tomato, grilled veg with parm & arugula, blueberry 'schmarrn (torn pancakes), 2 slices of gouda and ONE slice of salami. WTF?
I had the top of the dark roll (crunchier than the bottom) with half of the salami slice and one slice of the gouda. The avocado tasted weird to me, and the grilled eggplant wasn’t cooked through. The other veg were ok, tho (zuke & peppers), as was the gravlax and the egg scramble. My dude enjoyed the blueberry schmarrn & I had a little taste, but it’s just not my thang.
Our friends went there on their visit and each ordered this & another breakfast plate & really liked both, but they are not as critical as I am. I think a place that specializes in a certain type of food should ace it
Nice!
Your Fromager D’Affinois breakfast reminded me I also had a wedge (with herbs) to use up. I made a faux benny toasted buttered Em, fried Easter ham, over easy egg and covered in melted cheese. Pretty tasty. No photo.
