Tallarin a pesto like pasta dish that ironically has been made with Trader Joe’s pesto tonight to make it easier. Usually a mix of basil and spinach blended into a pesto like mixture done Peruvian style. Served with Papa Huancaina.
Seems there is a lot of starch mixing in Peruvian cuisine, or my GF is channeling her dislike of vegetables into her cooking.
My yearly batch of chicken liver mousse for tomorrow. Will be frying turkeys and then making gumbo on Friday
It was just Mr. R. and me at home for Thanksgiving. I cooked. Here’s my blogpost:

Dinner on the final night of Chanukah.
Chicken soup with matzoh balls and noodles from The Pickled Herring is always excellent.
For the main course, I made something new – a recipe that recently appeared in the NY Times: Braised Chicken Thighs with Vegetables and Dried Fruit. Easy and delicious.
Clafouti, the classic French dessert, is usually made with cherries. I made it with pears which I’ve done in the past. Seriously yum!

Well, not really my cooking but wanted to show off my Breakfast Burrito order.
Little Anita’s in Denver is a restaurant I would frequent often for breakfast burritos and other New Mexican fare while I lived there. I had known that there was a similarly named spot in Virginia and went there years ago with my sister, who had moved to Oakton.
Well, Dad is now down there too and just had to pick up some breakfast burritos for the freezer today while visiting. Don’t see good ones up here in NJ.
Tough choices.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays to all you fanatics of food and music.
Christmas Eve is usually the big deal around here with the 7 (+) fishes. I realized on Christmas Eve Eve we didn’t really have plans so invited my in-laws over and made my first beef Wellington! Not nearly as hard as I always assumed it would be. Smashed potatoes and buttered peas as sides. Sorry about the crappy picture. Happy holidays!
That looks DELICIOUS!!!
Your picture isn’t crappy - it says jump in and eat!! Yummers. What did you put in the peas??
Thanks! Just a copious amount of garlic, butter and salt. Easy toss frozen peas into sauted garlic and butter until thawed.
Hosted Christmas Eve which has been a tradition for several years now. Normally the night ends with a visit from a certain jolly fat fellow, however this year we had a change of plan. My daughters bestie, whom she grew up with in the neighborhood asked if our jolly fat man could make a visit to their home up the street from my own. I agreed, forgetting that we had 3 new neighbors so I decided Santa would go door to door in my neighborhood spreading some holiday cheer and candy canes for the kids!
Apps: : Shrimp cocktail, charcutier board, mozz and tomato, mini-hot dog wreath with brie - Italian egg rolls.
Dinner: Chateaubriand (roasted mini potatoes - broccoli rabe - Italian green beans and sausage) Lamb Chops - short rib mac n cheese.
A few pics of the Jolly Fat man!

The San Fran fan looks like you…brother?
No, just my neighbor who is now the proud grandfather of the baby in the pic.
Happy New Year, HOs.
Just some stuff we did over the holidays. Lentils for the good juju on New Years Day, some pizza, and the annual Christmas Eve spinach pie and fig cookie pic for Curlz
Thanks for torturing me! I’m sitting here with coffee and… NO FIG COOKIES. Sigh.
But everything looks delicious!!
