Thank you! Instagram and the blog was a deciding factor. The runner-up was from the same company and was a beautiful dark blue, but I was not sure it would photograph well in our current lighting. Decisions, decisions.
Random casserole dinner. Got a WF delivery so decided to use some of the new chicken breasts with old veggie stragglers. Onion, leeks, cauliflower, zucchini, and spinach sautéed. Cooked some chicken breast with cumin and garlic, then added a can of green chilies. Fussili pasta, and a can of Healthy Valley cream of chicken soup (alone I would not recommend this soup - blah). Into a baking dish topped with pepper jack cheese and some crushed tortilla chips. Green salad with a honey mustard dressing.
Something did my tummy in last night, so I didn’t eat all day.
Made burger buns - some GF and some einkorn (no AP available) because others were having burgers for dinner.
I had half a bun (toasted) and some crackers. Einkorn has an interesting flavor.
@gcaggiano started a thread about dealing with indifference when the cook asks others in the household what they would like for the dinner meal. I ran into that a bit last night, so made a Command Decision of my own: A potato bake with left over steak & two cheeses.
Nothing wrong with that!
What recipe do you use for the GF burger buns? Inquiring because my recent “flour” delivery was actually a bag of gluten free flour. Buns seems like a good choice.
beautiful! I’ve never heard of that place, where in the City is it?
omygod i want to faceplant into that right now.
stupid BF doesn’t like seafood and stupid sister doesn’t like the combo. i can’t wait to make this with friends when we can again!
Its really an amazing dish, and quite easy.
It can be a meal with rice (and bread, of course) or an appetizer/tapas with toothpicks (and bread-- lots and lots of bread). Everything about this dish is infusing the oil.
I’d love the zuke pie recipe if she would share.
Homemade batch of “Persian” cashew butter with celery sticks and I have raw shrimp steaming for a cocktail platter later.
They’re located in Pier 45, so it’s in Fisherman’s Wharf if you’re picking up directly. They also deliver.
Super uncanny shot of the two cats … Cool pose …
It was heavenly … Nice every so often !
We do it about once every 6 to 8 weeks, as we do not eat fried foods very often.
Fit the roof top terrace atmosphere …
Have a lovely afternoon, as it is now almost 12am midnight here.
How’s the pricing? When I’m in SF I usually go to Tokyo fish market in Berkeley which has pretty standard pricing afaik - tuna in your photo looks great though!
that’s where I’m going, even though I live in SF. Much easier to get to than the wharf.
we’re doing take-out tonight, a local place i can review.
Tues. brunch was a deep dive into the pantry - very old tin of smoked oysters on the BF’s toasted/buttered homemade bread.
small pleasures…
You can view the pricing here. It’s a notch higher than Whole Foods in price but also a tier better in freshness and selection. They don’t sell any other sushi/sashimi-ready fish besides the tuna though.
Couple of dinners from the past several days - the rest was cobbled together leftovers and such, not photo worthy. Plus, a gratuitous pic of my grandcat, Hallie.
Thanks! Recommended it to my folks since they’re out there, helps with the food boredom to be able to mix it up
