Pad see yew last night. I’m posting a question about woks on the cookware page, in a minute, because I totally didn’t have room in my pan to do the “stir-frying” and thus all the noodles got the sauce and none of the goodies did.
Dinner last night. Lamb Vindaloo with cumin and fennel stir fried cabbage, and Lundgren’s brown rice cooked in lamb stock. Absolutely delicious. H, the avowed hater of Indian food not only made it but had seconds, and loved it! A special thanks to @Saregama for the book rec - Madhur Jaffrey’s Quick & Easy Indian Cooking.
What’s for dinner? Breakfast. Cheddar and mushroom omelets, broccoli, bacon and croissants. And something to drink in a stemmed glass.
Oh yay! I’m so glad! I do love that book… I have 5-6 copies stockpiled for gifts
This came out way better than I had expected.
TJs pork belly, pan-seared, then glazed with a store bought blood orange and balsamic “finishing sauce” to which added some sriracha and soy sauce, and finished in the oven.
Israeli couscous and sauteed sugar snap peas, red bell pepper, and onion tossed with dried marjoram and savory.
And more of the wine I’ve been drinking since I got home from work at 3pm.
It’s Friday. Another week tallied on life’s chalkboard.
And Kitty Yoga, as demonstrated by Alfalfa. Weird cat.
What a majestic (and chubby) kitty!!!
Hence his nickname, Fat Boy Slim Shady. LOL
Oh - numnum! Do you use steak or deli roast beef? And if steak, do you shave it or by it shaved? And is your au just just warmed beef broth or something else. I love french dip. Just have never had it at home or frankly even considered making it. Don’t know why…
We started off with a delicious crostini of applewood smoked ham, Humboldt fog cheese, and toasted slivered almonds. We then had some previously vacuum sealed Dungeness crab and Alaskan King crab claw that we bought from Costco. It all went great with an excellent red blend wine.
I plan on a full day of cooking tomorrow, so tonight was a Kobe roast beef and horseradish cheddar sandwich on grain bread with some chips…and a gin and tonic or two. No pics.
That second photo…what an excellent, professional-looking shot.
We had an italian meal tonight because polenta finally came back in stock at WF (anything corn related was gone here in SoCal for the past few weeks - I finally scored both polenta and masa harina this week ).
Breaded chicken cutlets, garlic green beans, and oven polenta with assorted pan-roasted wild mushrooms. Rao’s for a bit of sugo. Salad to start. Kids had pizza.
I have to thank those here who mentioned dry-sautéing mushrooms - I love the technique! The mushrooms tonight were maitake - my absolute favorite, king oyster, and crimini.
Looks delish!
Aw, thanks! Credit Google photos app.
A sandwich made of bacon, egg, pickles, cheddar, grilled onions and mushrooms on rye, and a spinach, onion and cherry tomato salad.
What vodka is that with the photobomb in the background?
