@shrinkrap I use absorption and periodic heat to cook rice in the microwave – ie run for 3-4 mins till the water comes to a boil, leave it covered for a few mins, then blast 30s - 1min at a time periodically, stirring once or twice in between.
Depending on how much rice, takes about 15-20 mins total including the rest time, but less active heating time for the microwave and the dishes.
