A riff on Mexican posole. Chicken, hominy, stock, garlic, ancho chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, with romano beans, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms.
Looks so good. Love a chicken soup that’s heavy on the carrots. I like lots of of spinach too.
Rainy days “Dashi and ramen noodles” with dried mushrooms. I made more dashi, finally used some dried mushrooms. Not bad, but now I’m wondering about soba noodles.
beef and rice Kharcho soup. I added water, bay leaf, celery, carrot, mushroom, rice to some leftover stew. Added chopped cilantro leaves before serving.
I attempted to make crab soup with some frozen crabmeat and it was a bust. It wasn’t the crab. I used a jar of this
As the base, as an (expensive) experiment. I tasted the soup first, it was tomatoey and almost vinaigrey tart, but I figured I could fix it. I couldn’t. Before additions:
After additions (I tried everything: a dash of sugar, some sherry, a little fat ,some heavy cream, Worcester sauce…crab seasoning of course, celery salt, a pinch of nutmeg- it looked like my regular crab soup, but dang it certainly didn’t taste like it.
I’ll stick to my old cheat next time. I downed a big bowl, but I suspect I won’t go near the rest
Ugh! Hate it when that happens, wasting perfectly good food.
Lesson learned, I guess. Thanks for sharing & warning any of us who might consider buying this product.

The soup is boutique expensive. I know nothing of the man behind it. It just didn’t work for my purposes. Wrong flavor profile. Which is as much on me as on the soup.
