Sauces for cold chicken

What are some of your favorite sauces for cold chicken? Given that it’s going to super hot here (SFBA) this week, cold chicken and salad are on the menu. Thanks!

I love Japanese sesame sauce like that which is used for shabu-shabu or Japanese sesame salad dressing. The ingredients are different, but either would work. Using bottled tahini as a base for either would make things easier.

I could post some recipes if you’d like.

Cobb salad usually works and platter style makes many portions.

Is there a TJs near you? Their Zhoug, chimichurri, and toum (garlic sauce) are all lovely with chicken.

The bottled harissa is also very good but needs a bit of help — puree it smooth and then thin with something (yogurt, sour cream, Mayo, whatever you have on hand).

Plain hoisin is also good with cold chicken especially in a faux peking duck situation with scallions and flour tortilla.

And the dressing for the Americanized ramen / asian slaw is good with chicken too — soy, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil (sriracha optional).

Ooh! I love tonnato & am always looking for reasons to make it. Using it with cold chicken had not crossed my mind yet.

We had a lovely roast broccoli dish at a Danish sushi chain that comes with goma. A lot of the sauces suggested here are highly versatile

Plenty of inspo in this thread, too.

I really like “goma ae” for greens and brassica vegetables. Here’s a somewhat easy recipe.

Thank you so much! I love broccoli almost every which way, but sauces make it even better.
