Is “tiger salad” on this thread? I’ve found a few recipes that vary somewhat, and wonder if anyone has experience with substitutions.
I have celery, green onions, cilantro, Israeli cucumbers I could use, but for peppers only Thai and red sweet. I don’t use Thai chilies often and think even slices might be a bit much. I have a lot of big, green onions in the garden! How much of the green part do you like? Also, any role for curry leaves I happen to have?
Here’s a few recipes.
This one includes dried shrimp
Dried shrimp as garnish; comment says the original Xi’an Famous Foods restaurant version is vegetarian, another describes choosing dried shrimp, and a third mentions “bonito flakes over anchovies”, neither of which is in the recipe.
I assume there’s a paywall here. It uses a Thai and a serrano chili, and peanuts in addition to the more typical celery, cilantro, and green onions.
This version uses a Thai chile!

As I made, initially with about three, maybe four Thai chilies it was too hot. 
, and I was happy to have some yogurt left over from breakfast. I took some of the chilies out and added a little mint.
Undressed, and about to have some with Father’s Day burgers.
