Hi everyone! Ranch is a bit of a chameleon in my culinary journey. For the longest time, it was a nonentity in my eating habits. I even turned my nose up at it, considering myself a bit of a dressing snob. Then, a revelation happened with “triple pepper ranch” a game changer for dipping.
The Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch mix packets are hard to find so I have to order from Amazon. Instead of 1 cup buttermilk, 1 cup mayo, I do ¾ cup of each and ½ cup of sour cream. I like to dunk cukes, radishes, carrots in it.

It’s too late for this “dad joke” because I’ve already posted in thread, but if I hadn’t, it just occurred to me to quip
Ranch dressing… is that like boots, chaps, cowboy hats?

As an educator who works with all kids aged 4-21, I see it as the condiment that took over. Our lunch servers would tell you they can’t believe how much they go through. Mustard is all but dead, replaced by ranch. Kills me as a mustard lover. Ketchup and ranch are the two condiments that we could serve in soup bowls.
Interesting. I picked up the Marzetti’s refrigerated premium Caesar after reading a taste test on SE (?). It’s def the most palatable commercial Caesar (or other) dressing I’ve bought.
Yesterday, I bought and tried the Trader Joe’s “fresh” (refrigerated) Ranch.
I thought it was very good, and better than the shelf-stable Hidden Valley. Small bottle.
The TJ’s isn’t so much better that I won’t use up the HV, though…
