Uh oh for Acme.

I have to dip into politics: the current US administration has banned communications of product warnings and recalls. I haven’t received any in email since 1/22, where I usually would have gotten several a day.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be very, very difficult to exclude political allusions here (it’s already picked up significantly). Hopefully it won’t escalate into arguments.

My understanding is that the ban on public communications is for all federal health agencies: FDA, CDC, NIH. The FDA does show one recall issued on Friday, 1/24.

I’m still not getting FDA notifications, but the NY Times reports a recall of baked goods from producer FGF Brands, which distributes in the US and Canada. I can’t find it on the FDA website.

Thank you! I appreciate any recall/warnings that can be passed on.:+1:

I don’t think they are allowed yet by the government to send out any emails/notifications

I guess I’ll just go out on an ice floe (assuming there are any) and perish.

The recalls are still shown on the websites for those who want to check before a news outlet picks them up.

Thanks! Any Canadian affected?

It’s weird, there’s been no mention of this on Canadian news outlets. The FGF Brand’s Ace bread and croutons are pretty common at grocery stores here.

I’ve never noticed their cake donuts, which are the goods that are being recalled, up here. Maybe the cake donuts are more popular in the States.
