There are rumors circulating on NextDoor that Chefs International bought Rod’s in Sea Girt…anyone know if that’s true?
It’s true.

FREE COFFEE at DUNKIN’ ON WED SEPT 9th ONLY:
Wednesday is a day North and Central Jersey residents may want to run on Dunkin’.
The popular coffee and doughnut franchise is giving away one free small iced coffee with any purchase to all guests at certain locations.
The following New Jersey counties with Dunkin’ stores are participating: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.
A Dunkin’ press release announcing the promotion said it was “to officially welcome New York Tri-State area guests to kick off their post Labor Day routine.” (Sorry, South Jersey.)
The giveaway is from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday only, and it is available via drive-thru, carry-out and curbside pickup.
@joonjoon @NotJrvedivici @seal @BossaNova (and the rest of you, too):
Someone I follow on Twitter says she’s a former chef and food writer, but when I mentioned Manchego, she said she’s never had it. That’s it. That’s my food news of the day.
(And yes, I know my snob is showing.)
Pick your own apples are avail in Freehold and Colts Neck orchards right now. Picked these this morning in Freehold. $1.65 lb.
Macoun.
YUM! What’s the name of the orchard you went to? Would love to go do this. Thx!
Battleview Orchards is in Freehold
Eastmont Orchards is in Colts Neck
I’ve been to both over many years. Check their FB pages for daily apple variety reports. Battleview also has a general store worth visiting.
Awesome—thank you!
I’ve been following these guys all summer, but have yet to go to the dock and make a purchase. Thanks for the reminder.
My friend bought me the most beautiful sunflowers from Eastmont after apple-picking. They were so fresh and happy.
NJ Monthly just came out with their top 30 restaurants for the year which is basically the same list as last year minus 4 restaurants that have since closed. Aarzu was added to the list this year. I’m not sure how valid this list is with Covid-19 causing temporary closures, then mostly takeout, and then outdoor dining in parking lots in 90+ degree weather, to finally being only able to open 25% indoors.
Not news but I don’t know where to put this:
Finished up an excellent takeout dinner from a restaurant I will not name but order from quite frequently. Went into the kitchen to clean up and saw a roach crawling out of the bag. Extremely disappointed because I’ll never order from them again. And I’ve been going there for years. I had a food post up briefly last night on Instagram but removed it when I saw the roach. And out of all the amazing meals I’ve had from them, this one was one of the best. I don’t even know what to do.
