New items you’ve purchased at the grocery store

My preferred jarred salsa is Newman’s Own Mango OR Peach salsa. But the mango salsa is often hard for me to find.

I was at Wegmans today, and looked…sold out of the Peach, and Mango not one of the three Newman’s Own types they sell (just three? Really?)

So I got Wegmans brand peach-mango salsa. $3.49 for a 16 oz jar. Not bad! Decent heat but not TOO spicy hot, although the heat kicks in a bit more and lingers after several bites on a tortilla chip.

Maybe a bit too thin, making Newman’s better. But a decent sub.

And some start off with salt. I bought their DipShit blend fir veggies at a farmers market awhile back, and in looking at other blends on their site, many others start with salt as the first ingredient. Which, gor me, can mean too salty. :woman_shrugging:

That container is why I only bought them once.

Make a hot Poptart ice cream sandwich: the Pops’more.

This is a good idea.

Not a pop tart connoisseur but they should have used the unfrosted ones…

My daughter gave me these for my birthday from a place around Oakland, CA

I’ve been really enjoying the hot sauce (“vinegar, chilies, garlic, salt, sugar”), which is from a spot we like in Sonoma. Hoping to try the umami salt on “dry brined” bone in skin on chicken breasts this evening.

I was also at Oaktown Spice today, their Albany store, because I found out they have tonic water kits. Commercial tonic water has more sugar than Coke, and the sugar-free varieties use saccharine.

OMG. These are too good. The cookie crumbs in the coating are :chef’s kiss:

I bought them for my kiddo, who immediately wanted a second
