I was going to make a leek and potato soup today but cleaning out the fridge took awhile (I shoulda knwn) so I settled for something that could be nade quickly. Behold the humble salmon sandwich. (My lunch pales in comparison to scrambled eggs and tacos…)
Also would be a great addition to Nam khao (Rice Ball Salad) in place of the Sour Pork.
Cauliflower, ham, cheese, eggs milk not quite quiche, but good nonetheless!
Apple walnut streusel tart, with a very nicely browned crust.
Both of these were made in 4” disposable molds.
@Saregama , you might be interested in these molds…Amazon has them, mine were gifted.
Today’s Sunday omelet, chanterelles, prosciutto, havarti, ramen. I didn’t wait long enough to flip it, so it kind of fell apart. Very tasty, though–I crisped up the prosciutto beforehand, salty little crunchy bits in the gooey havarti and buttery noodles.
Sunday “not hash” (I said in the hash thread hash needs a potato or root veg)
Anyway, diced zucchini, red onion, garlic, and cherry tomatoes, over toast (homadoma), topped with a fried egg. Hot sauce.
We have a whole loaf of that bread in the freezer still

Someone at the office brought homemade brownies. I may have had a couple I am now bouncing off the walls… I had some homemade leek and potato for dessert
No picture because, for the second day in a row, I forgot to take a picture. Now I know why parents ration their kids halloween candy…
It’s Healthy Monday @casa lingua: whipped fage, partly smashed poms, and wonderfully flavorful, sweet & tart sungold kiwis. I will have to get more of them at the Viet market.
I was also going to add a plumcot, but it sucked so bad I tossed it. No need for it, anyway.

Lunch with the fam out in the burbs at our favourite Hakka joints.
The best hot and sour soup in the city. This was a small bowl, enough for the 4 of us.
Vegetable chow mein, lots of smoky wok hai flavour.
Chili chicken- dry. As delicious as always.
Stir fried green beans with a ton of garlic and various chilis .
So delicious
I’m almost embarrassed posting such a pedestrian lunch following @PedroPero’s delightful Chinese meal, but… it is what it is
Nothing worth buying on the Amtrak back home, so I made myself a sammich with Mighty Bread Co.'s bread, Biedermann’s chive cream cheese, DiBruno’s porchetta, and red butter lettuce for health
*Hakka
Oh, my! Mea maxima culpa. All I saw was hot & sour soup and chow mein
More interesting than my lunch either way
Apology accepted
