Where do people find bottarga?
Do you have a Eataly near you? They might have some.
The closest one is about 50 miles away, and their online catalog doesn’t list it.

I think I got this one from Falletti Foods in SF. Bi-Rite might also have it. Closer to Berkeley, maybe check with Market Hall in Rockridge in Oakland?
Not in Market Hall’s online catalog, I’m afraid. But it could be that Berkeley Bowl has it. They have lots of international specialties.
I just saw it listed on Amazon.

The Yolk to White Ratio is very different.
Very true. Goose eggs probably wouldn’t make sense for folks who eat only the whites and discard the yolks.

Man, I could go for that right now!
My daughter is attending Outside Lands tomorrow, so I convinced her that today she must experience the majesty that is Swan Oyster Depot. Miraculously, when we arrived, there was no line, which had me nearly in tears of happiness. For her first visit (and my first return in well over a decade) we went with a couple of classics: The Dungeness crab salad and a dozen mixed oysters.

I immediately though it was Cochinita Pibil! The Pattern on the Plate looks like a Banana Leaf to me! 
This is amazing. When did you arrive?
It was 10am on Saturday. It was no more than 10 minutes afterwards that we noticed that a line had formed. I’m still gobsmacked by how lucky we were.

I’m cooking a turkey breast for a work function tomorrow and chicken and rice for my old dog, so I got a veggie wrap from the store up the street.
